Didn't know where else to post it, sorry.

I just started it, the other day. Myself and two of my room mates. I'm on Day 3, going into Day 4, and so far so good. I haven't really been hungry, the lemonade seems to keep me at bay. But, oh FUCK do I ever have cravings! Everything in sight, sometimes things that aren't vegan, I want to fucking devour.

Has anyone else done it? How long did you last, and how did it make you feel? So far, I don't feel really any different than when I'm on regular food, except for that I have to restrain myself from food, and I'm cold a lot of the time. I'm really hoping to gain something from this, though. I want to go the full 10 days, but man it seems hard. Personally, I'm proud that I've already gone 4 days without food.

Anyways, yes, I would love to hear everyone's stories. Discuss!

I was thinking about doing the cleanse again this week. Seems like you are just backing through some past sins so to speak. I've read/heard that as you detox things on this program you sometimes either get the symptoms of the thing you are detoxing or the craving for the item. So have you always been a vegan? Did you smoke? When i cleansed the first time Cigs became unbearable for me. I even got the headaches that made me quit in the first place.

No, I haven't always been vegan, but I have been for over 4 years now, and was vegetarian 2 years before that. Though, I admit to not being the healthiest vegan on the block, but I still try.

I don't smoke, never have, never will. Up until not long ago, I used to drink quite frequently, and felt I was almost getting to an alcoholic stage, but then I drastically cut back. The last time I drank was probably a week before I started the cleanse, and I didn't drink much.

But, I dunno, I'm just hoping to get some really positive results out of it. Namely weight loss. I was hoping to lose about 10 pounds, but worry about putting it back on after.

well, it isn't REALLY for weight loss, but sort of a break for the digestive/elimination system to catch up.
If you use it to change the bad diet habits you have, you will see a maintenence weight, usually.
MAybe add more raw vegan foods to get your system in balance?

    Thanks, drumminmamma. :)

Yeah, I know it's more for cleansing the body, and I'm enjoying that side of, too. But, I was hoping that some weight loss would come with it. Nothing drastic, just a few extra pounds that are technically excess weight, anyways.

Thanks for the tip, though, I'm planning on going more raw vegan after the cleanse is done. :)

I tried searching for more threads about this, and came up with zilch. When I tried to google it, I came up mostly with a bunch of ads for the book.

I'm interested in this, because in the last few months I've taken fish, eggs, and dairy out of my diet, and I'd like to clean out my system completely so as not to have my system still full of those things. Anyone have a good site or two to refer me to? :)

therawfoodsite.com is a great place for it, with a nice discussion board and everything.

I'm on Day 5, today, and woke up feeling VERY weak, and very sick. One of the bad detox days, I suppose. I decided that instead of doing the full ten, I'm going to go until Monday, which will have been 7 days. I still feel proud that I've come this far, as I've never done a cleanse like this, or of any kind, before.

The craving for food is pretty rough, and I'm looking forward to eating again. However, being on this cleanse has helped me to see that I need to get more active, and live a healtheir life. So that, I resolve to do. Maybe one day I'll do this cleanse again, maybe not. I do suggest trying it, though, if you never have.

I cheat like crazy by chewing on licorice sticks: the real roots.
It's sweet, doesn't remotely taste like lemon or lime (I use both fruits) and has a chewing sensation.
plus it also breaks up phlegm, and therefore is true to the intent of MC.
There's also heating the lemonade as a soup, add more cayenne.

I tried heating up the lemonade...didn't like it. I prefer it cold.

I started coming off the fast, today, by drinking orange juice. Since I was only on it for half the time, I think I'm gunna try eating a salad, tomorrow night, instead of doing three days of orange juice.

It's a good cleanse, I think, I just don't know if now was the right time for me. Perhaps sometime in the future...

I have done it two times now...
The above is actually a post from my forum about my first experience. I take it at this point you are done with it. How long did you last? I must tell ya that it is a very heightened experience for me to do. I have been actually debating doing it for the spring equinox...kinda a spring cleaning thingie.

I don't know how you do it cold though. I need to heat my water for about 45 secs in the micro or else I gag on the stuff. The first go round was really difficult for me as far as the taste but as time went on I got used to it....now its not a problem for me to drink it.

Last time my boyfriend and I did it together which was kinda good because there was alot of support from one another but I cheated like crazy that time. First time I was really proud I went all 10 days.

i've never heard of master cleanse before, but i would like to maybe try it someday when my 'rents wouldnt freak out about me not eating. the only problem is that if i go for like 10 or 15 hours without eating, and i try to get up and do anything, even walking, i get REALLY dizzy and my vision gets fuzzy and gray and then i cant see at all and i have to lay back down. but i also know people who can go 3 or 4 days only eating a slice of pizza or something and be fine. is it just me?

I've considered doing this - I've got a family history of lower GI problems and I'm thinking that at worst... it can't hurt.

Problem is that I've got some sort of sugar imbalance. I'm not diabetic, but I get sugar rushes/crashes if I don't keep a fairly constant level of carbs in me. And I have NO idea what something like that would do to me.
    love,
    mom
