1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

You could also subscribe to the forums and get an upgrade to Supporter or Lifetime Supporter here

Thanks in advance for the help.
I've recently made the decision to ditch cable TV, but unfortunately with the TV goes the acceptable price for my DSL. After checking a few sites and finding most to be maddening to navigate and constructed in the style of a choose-your-own-adventure novella, where one must save the page they were viewing because invariably the attractive offer he or she just clicked will lead to a pit full of rusty spikes, I figured I'd get farther just asking on Hipforums.
So. Anyone (in the Midwest?) happy with their internet service provider? Got a price range? How often do you deal with service interruptions?

An unrelated question: My wireless router (linksys) seems to randomly decide it wants to no longer provide a connection, and I have to unplug it for a few seconds to make it work again. Any ideas?
