if you where raised in an other religious society you would feel just as strong about the religion as you do about your christianity ..religion is for people afraid of death and who cant comprehend the complexity of life on this planet
I'm certainly not afraid of dying, and I consider myself a christian, somewhat. Personally, I find your statement very ignorant, judgemental, presumptuous, and disrespectful.
yeah ok so your not afriad anymore because youve found an answer in your life to what will happen after death and this eases you into your inevitable destiny
That's not the reason. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hell anyway, especially if I die tonight or sometime soon, because I've done some fukt up shit. I'm just not too worried about it, to tell the truth. Death is inevitable anyway, so why would anyone fear it?
I believe in the christian god, mostly, but I also believe that I MAY be wrong because, like I said before, none of us know for sure. I also think god is a little fukt in the head. S/He could make everything better with a snap of his fingers, but s/he chooses to let us suffer, presumably for his/her own entertainment. We wouldn't be all that interesting to watch if we had no problems or adversity, so s/he creates problems for us.
wasnt burning in hell for eternity a scare tactic to get ppl to go to church, or i may have worded that wrong.... they waould preach about this gruesome stuff cuz that was th only thing ppl would come and listin to at church... threw that out there to be chewed up and spit back at me
What do you mean by that? Please elaborate. Giving credit to ourselves has nothing to do with natural evolution and, even if the theories of evolution are partially true, maybe a god created us to evolve? Just because evolution is possible/probable, doesn't necessarily mean a god doesn't exist.
i still find it hard to believe in evolution. to have mankind pick something STILL in existents today and say we evolved from it seems kinda...stupid? but hey im not a scientist
honestly, i dont know for sure what to think. there are numerous plausible explanations to how we got here today... i think evolution played a part in how we got here... the big bang just sounds more rediculous the more i think about it... for now, ill just keep reading what you have to say and continue to wonder to myself us and the monkey evolved from the same thing under different pressures to survive, not us from a monkey though similar.... just off the top of my head, where are most apes living today... jungles with lots of food and nice trees to hide... not wandering plains or deserts. what if some did wander and had to Think of cleverer ways to survive ill read more in the morn. g'nite all
??? we didnt 'pick' it. Chimps look similar to us and have very similar dna to humans, put two and two together and it seems to make sense that we had evloved from this animal. plus there is pretty good fosil evidence that backs up this theroy and what does religion have besides writing and people form a long time ago, when knowledge of the world was primative, who would belived anything they where told evolution just makes more sense to me
What I'm saying is that evolution could've, quite possibly, been gods plan for us. Like I said before, we're just a soap opera he likes to watch. But maybe it's more like god's RPG game, and evolution is his way of leveling us up, like you do to the characters on RPG games.
