I don't know if any of you are into wines... I really don't enjoy much wine, but I like wine. But lately, I've been drinking Barefoot Reserve Winery's California Reserve and Duplin Winery's White Carolina Muskanong/Hatteras Red Wild Muscadine wines. Also George Hornsby's Hard Cider Amber Draft by E&J Gallo is pretty damn good. I don't like Mike's or any of those... they're so... malt liquor. (regular draft sucks ass, I like amber) Shit. I'm such a Chardonnay Socialist, at times. grilled shrimp and chardonnay/cider is one of the world's most amazing joys... Dammit. I gotta check my shrimps...
Yeah, Chardonnay is the only white wine I'll drink besides Muscanong. Musconong is vibrant and fruity... and Hatteras Red tastes like you're drinking a rainbow. Chardonnay accentuates the shrimp. It's my favorite seafood wine, as the food usually makes the dryness not linger so much. Barefoot is a 2004 grape... contest thing award winner (Tampa or Miami, I believe). The Duplin wines are all wild grape award winners, as not many folks make wild grape wine. I used to have muscadine grapes on our farm... They grow well in the Southeast. But, I like the wild/organic grapes to the California shit, most of the time. Duplin Winery is the shit. I also don't mind Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and Mobjack Bay Brewery (microbreweries... and I work on the mobjack bay, so... everyone drinks that here)
Oh, wine is totally my anti-liquor. I don't even care for liquor that much unless it's rum or a niccccccccccce aged bourbon (eh, I prefer KY to TN Bourbon, but it has to be aged right... some kinda oak barrels make it too damn rich or woody), most of the time.
Man, Duplin sells like hotcakes around here. But 'tis good, 'tis good. There's only a few Chardonnays I can really drink, mostly Australian wines. And, Paul, I am so with you on the wino ordeal.
I forgot Australian. Australian wines are generally amazing... or surprising. Most French wine is so rich or heavy for my taste. Though, a French Cabernet Sauvignon is nice for a change. But... DUPLIN... I love them so much I put them on my myspace. http://www.myspace.com/marcoesquandolas1
I just saw your hard cider picture. This one time, I got piss drunk off of Hornsby's and broke my ankle going down a driveway. The end.
Whaaat.... I'm sorry. That's why I don't go anywhere if I decide to drink. Though, it is nice to go for a walk.
Wino right mothafuckin here you wanna talk some vino? I can recommend some tasty treats for your 'buds right now, I am really into California Pinot Noir....French Pinot Noir is very abrasive to me....only French wines I like are a nice Cote du Rhones(cant ever go wrong with that) oohhh....tried a Blue Franc for the first time..body of a Pinot Noir, but the richness of Red Zins (my two favorite wines are Noirs and Red Zins....BINGO!) South Africa has got some really nice Cabs and New Zealand!!!! wow....great Rieslings and Sav Blancs
I have a similar story....it involved Hornsby's, a sprained ankle, a few stolen parking meters, (and all we got was $10.29) and a LOOOOOONG night.......I cant smell that stuff without a gag reflex
Oh man, i love wine as well ... I'm planning a winebag party this summer Because i mean, enormous quantity of bad wine for 30 $ and teenagers ... That's a good deal
i'm such a wino in my family i've always been the wine expert i'm generally a fan of reds more than white..but i love blush wines and roses..i'm a fan of sweeter wines and more richer wines than most people tend to like...
I do not know shit about wine. As long as it's sweet, I'll drink it. But I do know that I'm particularly fond of strawberry wine
