in approximately 40 minutes or so. wish me luck..... some folks have told me they felt bad for days, some said they felt better within 12 hours or so...we'll see
good luck, i got mine taken out 4 days ago. you will be fine after 24 hours, just keep taking the vicodins you get and you wont feel a thing! ;-)
doesnt hurt too bad, but i'm still numb. mi madre is picking up my vicodin & penicillin (to prevent infection) but what i really need now is new gauze...my mouth keeps filling w/ blood and i cant find new, clean gauze
Vicodin!!!!!!!!! hahaha  Im getting some Morph in about an hour myself, see ya on the brite side!
good luck (is it the season for wisdom teeth removal or somethign? i had mine taken out a couple weeks ago, stupid gums are still healing, stupid jaw is still sore sometims). anyway, ibuprofen is good because it also prevents swelling. if aftera bout 48 hours your mouth is sitll swelling, try using a regular tea back (like red rose or whatever), wet it, and stick it where you had the extractin - induces clotting. but not before 48 hours! clot too fast and it may not be a proper clot which means itll com eloose and youll get dry socket which sucks. soft foods, like yogurt and soup and cottage cheese and oatmeal are your friend for the next while. and you can rinse your mouth out with warm (NOT HOT hot dislodges clots) salt water after youve stopped bleeding too thats weird that they didnt giv eyou extra gauze though. i got liek a 2" stack of gauze after mine, the assistant said i probably wouldnt use it all (and i didnt) but its not like that shit is expensive
nah, i had gauze, i just didnt know where it was. i had just gotten to my parents' house and my mom was out getting my scrips and had it with her. i think i got a decent amount of painkillers....probably more than i really need, so saving a few wont be too hard too bad they're only 5/500, though....i was hoping for 7.5s....oh well the bleeding has slowed down significantly, and i have taken one pill and sipped a small amount of red wine (they said the beneficial part of using teabags was the tannins...so a tiny amount of wine won't hurt....cabernet sauvignon is rather tannic, right? either way it only takes very little wine to make the painkillers more effective. i'm perfectly coherent, but do have a SLIGHT buzz, which is nice )
ick, wisdom teeth removal.... blah.... I had 6 (6!) wisdom teeth removed in highschool... it wasn't too bad, but I was high on Tylonal 3's for like 4 days.
Getting my teeth out rocked! I had my four back molars and four wisdom teeth removed at once. I went home, slept for about two hours, got up and went out later that night. No pain at all. Good luck!
6? wow. too bad all you got was T-3s...course you had it better than a buddy of mine who used to be in the marines.... the dentist was doing some sort of training or whatever with someone else, and he took a look around, said there was plenty of room and everything should be fine....but that he was going to take them out anyhow. all he got during the procedure was novacaine, which wore off partway through, and all he got for pain was motrin or midol or something. actually, i think it was midol. its usually marketed for menstrual cramps and stuff these days, i believe, but it was originally marketed for headaches and toothaches.
small amoutn of wine wont kill u but remember than alcohol makes blood less likely to clot, thins blood ro wathever. anwyay, dont get drunk or anything while youre still forming the clot, mmk? I only had ibuprofen for getting my teeth out... and i was only taking double the recommended daily dosage for like 5 days strait
oh yeah, definitely no actual drinking drinking....just enough to help boost the pills without having to take too much more. really all i've had is maybe a glass's worth....and its not good wine, either.... it just makes the pain slightly more tolerable. i think tomorrow will be much easier, and by friday i bet i can probably smoke a cigar or a bowl again... but for now i'm trying to be good
that sucks you only got 5/500. they gave me 7.5/500. oh well just take like 2 and a half and ull be great. im still taking mine, i got my last refill yesterday. yeah no smoking for sure for about 4 or 5 days, you dont want dry sockets that would fucking suck
yeah, i'm gonna go as long as possible without smoking anything, though i'm expecting to possibly pick up some bud tomorrow, cause an old friend of mine is selling some...says its pretty good quality....seeing as i havent chilled with him in a while, i'm thinking i might have him roll up a joint or something and give me a couple good shotguns, let him smoke the rest. i dunno.....its gonna be hard not smoking at all, but i can at least make it to friday or saturday if nothing else. the painkillers are helping a lot, but i dont think i get any refills so i'm trying to not take too many. i've had four over the course of today, so the pain has been tolerable, but i think i'll try to just deal with advil after tomorrow if i can....i'd like to be able to save at least 3 pills for a rainy evening... anyway, it feels good to no longer have these teeth in my mouth, even if it does hurt a lot right now at the same time. i'm sure as soon as i'm all better i'll feel like a million bucks....at least one was infected and the gum around it was inflamed, and another which was impossible to brush had some decay...i had a lot of pain before the surgery, and it will be nice to be able to eat pretty much whatever i want again in about a week the biggest issue is missing beer and pot and cigars though
Yeah before they pulled mine he told me that my botton right one was infected, and it hurt like hell about a week before the surgery! its been about 5 days since mine were taken out and now it feels great to not have those teeth anymore.they were grinding on my gums before and it didnt feel too good. And iv been without beer since then and I think now i can start drinking again. thank god.. Well good luck and get alot of sleep because thats the best thing for healing it up
yeah, i drank a couple beers while i could still enjoy them last night....two bottles of orval, and a bottle of samuel smith's oatmeal stout....and the last of my bottle of scotch as a nightcap.... it wasn't the smartest idea because i had to fast from midnight on...no water, no food, nothing. and my operation was scheduled at 9:30 this morning, and of course i had to wait on the doctor to get to me for an hour, so i got in the chair at about 10:30.....man was the nitrous fun! since i had to wait so long anyway, the least they could have done was let me wait in a chair with some nitrous, before they put in the IV and knocked me out...i only got to enjoy that buzz for maybe three or four minutes, since they stuck me before the gas took any effect....oh well if i really wanted i could just buy a balloon and a cracker, cause i could pretty much get all the nitrous whipped cream chargers i want from work when folks aren't looking....haha.... but yeah, drinking a couple beers and a glass of scotch before fasting, not being able to drink any water until at least noon, and i went to sleep around 10:30-11PM, a good bit after i stopped drinking....i was dying for some water, and slightly hungover from being dehydrated, until about 1 oclock...then the hydrocodone, soymilk, and water chased that away. i can still sneak a glass or two of wine without worries, i think. i'm not too concerned, as long as i use strict moderation it wont hurt me. just a little something to help the painkillers do the trick better, not to get drunk. but damn....i dont think i can make it to saturday without smoking ANYTHING. i'll probably stay away from tobacco until saturday, but i'm sure i'll try and smoke at least a LITTLE pot by thursday or friday. if i have to...maybe i'll smoke through my nose. i know of people doing that, it just sounds uncomfortable....but i'm supposed to pick up some Quality tomorrow possibily, so at least i wouldnt have to take as many hits that way hehe.... we'll see what happens, i guess. but i'll be damned careful, at least tonight, tomorrow, and thursday. like i said though, i'm glad to have this done and over with because they've been hurting me for a while. about two or three weeks ago i was in excrutiating pain, and was given penicillin for the infection...it got better after that, but still bothered me a lot and restricted what i could really eat. so even though it hurts worse and more constantly now, at least with the pills its more of a dull aching soreness, rather than constant soreness with occasional debilitating, excrutiating, shooting pain.... i'll be happy as a clam in about a week, especially if i can save some pills
