I've had this book since 2002 and never quite got into it, but now that I have given up on organized relgion I feel that I am ready to hear its message. Anyone else have any knowledge of this book or "The New Revelations" and the concept behind it?
The author is Neale Donald Walsch. He talks about us letting go of our old beliefs about God and what God wants ... because they are no longer working. Choosing a new understanding of God and the way we know of it...... and living your life as a demonstration of these new beliefs.

    Changing beliefs changing behaviors.

This series was the first books I had read once I left Christianity. It was quite enlightening, but I somehow yearned for more. I think Neale Donald Walsch is at best a psuedo-enlightened author who either found all of his ideas in other books or was merely unaware that his ideas had already been published a thousand times. There are a lot of better books than this, but reading them definitely won't hurt, and they all have a good message.

Maybe someone else could suggest books that go beyond his ideas. I really don't know any that would fall under metaphysics or spirituality, beisides The Disappearance of the Universe, but that guy also thinks he is the incarnation of Thomas, so I don't really know...

I've read all those books. I was 14 and they practically became my new religion for awhile (they were what largely persuaded me to leave my Catholic days behind)...but hey, I was 14, I needed something.

Anyway, the Celestine Prophesies by James Redfield and Siddartha are pretty good books kind of along the same lines, but more in narrative format.

yeah thank you, I do find them hard to engage ..... as much as the ideas are appealing and new to me. Just the way it's written seems choppy-ish. Thank you for the info on the other books. ha ha I tried to read it when I was still a Christian and ended up getting all bent out of shape about it. Now that I have left Christianity it is much more my league. I never realized it was metaphysical until you posted that... something that interests me more now.

It really intrigued me and I found a copy and read little bit through them all. They caught my attention but I didn't have much time to really think them through.

His ideas aren't obscure, they don't seem to be anything new, rather G-d and him express life in different ways. He clears up a few things.

The whole idea of the "Conversation" with G-d is hard to grasp but its not out of this world. If you're a christian then this book is nothing to live by, but more rather something to ponder.

Ha ha ha yeah and then I bet that author says - buy some crystals off me and heal yourself with them and oh look a pretty dream catcher for only 9.99
wise up folks its another christian liar selling a book !

New age christians are worse than the others because always at the back of their agenda is merely two ideas

1)christianity is dying so lets sell chreistianity as magic and mystery
    2) I could make a shitload out of importing crystals and writing new-age books

I never really felt that this book had anything to say about christianity or metaphysics ... just the power of believing and making the world change to something positive... something that all religions actually were initially based on, love for eachother and a higher power.

become a shaman witch doctor instead and put a bone through your nose! Also dress in a grass skirt and shake a rattle full of snakes bones

This will have about the same impactt as reading the bible, praying, and imagining christianity is true

I really enjoyed several of the Conversations with God, they are ones I keep extra copies of to pass out to friends. I was raised Christian and these books really helped me get over Hell.
