Oh yea, the music thing. The harsh lyrics are only a symptom of the growing frustration. So, quite understandable. Nobody seems to pay attention to what things mean any more anyhow, for example lyrics, or even common sayings. In music it is more just the rhythm of the words and the FEEL (angry, happy, etc.). Rap music is VERY TRIBAL, just urban tribal rather than african indigenous tribal. I truely think that "tribal" is part of what is lacking in peoples lives that would make a positive difference. People have grown too far from their tribal roots, ceremonies, adulthood rituals, etc. In common sayings it is just habit. Sort of the "hi, how are you" - "I'm fine, thanks" thing. Means nothing really. Your worst enemy might begin a correspondance with you by saying "dear so and so", when obviously you are not at all dear to them. Or end their correspondance with "sincerely yours", when you wonder why the hell you would ever want them to be "yours". Ah, rambling. Too much coffee... Black Jim, I love your honesty!
The first thing that comes to my mind about the major problem in the world is "Parents". Mothers and Fathers today have lost touch with their children. They do not guide them in the ways of peace. They do not teach them to strive to be "One with Good (God)." They do not adequately love them.! IN the library yesterday, I witnessed three children who just didn't have a clue about appropriate manners or respect for others. They were crying, arguing, whining, and very confused about how to be. Meanwhile the mother was threatening, bribing, insulting, and was totally out of control of the situation. She just didn't know what to say, she just didn't know what to do. Is it any wonder these little people will never grow up to be part of the solution to the problems of this world.? They won't know how to handle their emotional life, won't be able to function in our society as responsible human beings. It is not their fault.! They were little babies once, innocent and full of Love, and their parents missed their opportunity to build a positive addition to our planet. They just didn't know how! It is not their fault, they just did not know how.!!!!!! Their parents didn't teach them. Every evil, corrupting, unscrupulous person you can think of was once a little, sweet baby, capable of so much good in the world, yet somehow destined to evil, due to improper parenting. Are all our instincts for raising children gone.? Can we be taught how to be better mothers and fathers? Can better parenting lead to a better world? I think so !!!!! I think this is the root of "The Problem"..........
know wat i love, nobody has picked terrorism...im sure the nsa dudes got a kick outa that wen they were searching the forums...u know wat i think the problem is, me
I think greed and religion is the problem. Everyone is so materialistic, especially movie stars. And magazines glamorize the wrong people. I really don't care what paris hilton's dog's name is. Seriously, people are nuts. Gas-Eating Hummer drivers are the problem with our world. Religion forced into our politics sucks, I don't think religion should ever be mentioned. Oh and babies. The world is overpopulated, people should take care of the children we already have. Artificial insemination goes against nature. Nature tries to keep a balance in the world and we just keep fucking with it.
thoughtlessness is the problem, and the resaulting harm and suffering and impending colapse of the web of life if we don't stop putting trying to impress each other ahead of even looking at how anything besides human society itself actualy works. (and pretty much deceiving ourselves even about that) if life survives on this planet, whatever does is going to be looking back at the past 4 decades, plus this one and probably a good part of the next, and wondering how in the hell, any species with that much brains could possible have been that dense. that this, the real problem, wasn't even on that list, is itself indicative of it. i mean that alone speaks volumnes more then anything else i could say. not 'natural' 'disasters' but human percipitated environmental colapse. totally 100% avoidable but for a lack of willingness to even consider, let alone use, any kind of common sense. =^^= .../\...
However I see several other posts in this thread that do have truth in it, I agree with this post the most. We only seem to care about ourselves and the closest people around us. Some people give a dollar for the cancer fund and kid theirselves that they are good people. We all say we like nature, but we destroy it. Like Themnax said, we're acting thoughtless. And selfish. It's the lack of respect for other people and our earth. Besides that, it's gravity.
I'm even happier now I've seen that video! Here's some other things that make me happy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLZPuwLIO0g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jl4DAlHlw5A
No matter what anyone says about the problems of the world today, the root of all the corruption and suffering is found in the negligence of the mother and father to truly LOVE their babies sufficiently. If a baby is held and nurtured as a priority of the mother and father in its first days, weeks, months, and years, and given the proper foundation of care and respect, then the child will go into the world at large becoming a part of the solution and not a part of the problem. It all goes back to the babe-in-arms phase of our lives, and this determines who we become and if we are inclined to promote good or evil.
