My mom is a bitch, theres no nice way of putting it. Now granted i think she has been diagnosed with some emotional issues but she's a btich. However I love her b/c she's my mom and i put up with all her crap b/c i have to. Anyways every so often she does something so completely awesome that it amazes me. Last time it was when she told me i looked like i was having a bad day and told me the vodka was under the sink and to help myself. Well today i was waiting at her house b/c she is supposed to be adopting a dog and they had to do a home visit, and i noticed this little carved wooden box on the bookcase. I had noticed it before but never really paid attention. Well today curiosity got the best of me so i walked over and figured out how to open it (it had some odd secret latch thing). Anyways, inside i found a roach clip, a one hitter, and a film container that contained 30 year old weed (yeah it was gross). I about lost it, i started cracking up so hard. I pocketed the one hitter and went about my day. That night she took my brother and i out to dinner and we decided the waiter was high. I jokingly muttered something like, "i should offer him an 1/8 of chronic". My mom heard me and that prompted all sorts of conversation. Anyways it came out that i smoke, she used to smoke, and my little brother now thinks were horrible people (not really but hes pretty straight laced). And my mom was totally cool with me smoking. I couldn't believe it. I have a feeling she wouldn't want me doing it around her but she doesnt mind that i smoke on my own time. And she let me keep the one hitter. Anyone have any idea on how to clean a 30 year old metal one hitter? Think its sitll usable? Its a goldish metal and does have some "age spots" on it. I've never seen a one hitter like this actually. for the outside, brasso or silvo. Q-Tip, and rubbing alc for the inside. Do that for a long while. or string some steel wire through the one hitter. Grats dude.
Haha man, I bet you were excited. I found out both of my parents smoked earlier this year, let me tell you that was a pleasent feeling knowing I no longer had to hide it from them, I smoke with them all the time now. Just feel blessed by Jah that you have parents who don't care with you smoking/drinking.. Believe me I know some kids who's parents would tear them apart and send them to rehab if they ever found out they smoke/still smoke.
I'd just say "fuck it" and soak the whole thing in alcohol. Try to get 99%, but if not, anything weaker (usually 70% is easy to find) will work, too. Then if you want to, polish up the outside and whatever. I've soaked a lot of things in 99% alcohol, and never ruined anything... other than weak plastic, acrylic, etc. (it dissolves it, so never soak anything like that, but glass/pyrex/metals/etc. seem to do fine).
That's awesome. Get a pic of that hitter up soon. If you don't want to smoke the weed then see if you can sell it as antique! That's almost exactly how my mom and brother reacted when I told them I smoke, too. My mom was completely cool with it and my brother told me I'm a druggie and I'm going to commit suicide.

Haha, it happens. Maybe by the time I'm your age handheld vaporizers will be all anyone ever uses to get stoned, and all of our new pieces and even the fanciest vapes available will be antiques. Handheld vapes... hmmm... I smell $$$.
