I'm writing an article on self publishing for one of my writing classes. I was just wondering what other people's opinion was on self publishing. Thank a lot!
I was just exploring resources on this very subject yesterday at the bookstore. There were several books that had all kinds of opinions, but most were dated or focused on a specific kind of writing. With the power of todays developing communications technology, the whole dynamic of publishing is rapidly changing. There are still all kinds of mediums like newspapers, magazines, books, and other traditional printed materials, however, the online world is absolutely booming. Blogs, online journals, forums and web sites in general have opened up an infinate world of potential and much of it's free for the posting. Finding your audience, connecting with them and marketing your work is a whole different story.
