I was searching for the colleges for a long time and finally decided to go to the LACC (Los Angeles City College). I mailed the international students department twice but they didn't answer me what I needed, I think they just do not know :)

So maybe you can help me?

I've heard there is no units every day per week. In my home country (I live in Rep. of Georgia) we have 2 holidays -saturday and sunday - other days we have units. I wonder how it's going in LA and also how many hours last the units per day?

The second question I think you can't answer.. it's about diploma :)

The third quesion is about housing. The LACC don't has campus :( so what can you advise me?

Finally, I'm interested in expenses - how much should I need in one month?

    THank you!!!!!
    and Good Luckk!!!!
    :)

You ask many questions and this may, indeed, prove to be difficult to respond to. Your choice of words makes some of this a little hard to fully grasp.

OK ... this I can't figure out for the life of me. School attendance is generally during Monday through Friday. Some schools DO have classes on Saturday or Sunday. You know about that when you register. Registration of classes always includes days and times. Some classes have an additional "TBA" which means "to be arranged" or "to be announced". That is usually administrative and includes lab hours.

If you take a look at something like English you will note there are six units for about six hours of lecture (3 hours x 2 days).

    ENGLISH 020 6.00 Units

ADVISORY: English 67 and English 68. DESCRIPTION: English 20 provides instruction in techniques of writing clear, coherent compositions and improvement in reading skills which reinforce writing skills necessary for academic success.

What about it? Los Angeles City College is what we in America refer to as a junior college or community college. It offers a two year education program. If you are entering a major field of study that offers a diploma you can either receive an A.S. (associate degree of science) or and A.A. (associate degree of art).

Here, for example, is all the information you would need to get an A.A. in English from LACC

    http://catalog.lacitycollege.edu/pages/english.htm

LACC has both a campus AND a satellite location. You probably mean that it does not have on-campus housing/dormitories.

The website has a page SPECIFICALLY for International students. I have no idea where you have been getting your information, but every single question you have posed I was able to easily answer on the website.

Does your computer have difficulty navigating through American webpages? If your computer and English skills are at this level, I might suggest you spend six months or so in a more intensive Englisih setting.

I cannot advise you about the cost of living here because, well, I am not part of the program that is designed for that.

I would suggest you contact the college rather than asking people here. This forum is open to people who live all over the planet. The college would be better equipped to answer your questions.

Oh thank you Duncan very much!

    I feel myself idiot :(

I know what kind of diplomas I would receive there, I'm interested what kind of documents should I need while registration. You know, here we don't have highschool. Our school lasts 11 years and then comes university.
So I'm sophomore at the university and wonder what should I need: my school diploma or what?

Is it O.K. to disturb the international department third time?
