Cops in Bonnaroo?

Someone told me that this year there will cops actually inside of Bonnaroo , does anyone know if this is true? Another question I have is does anyone know if they search your car/stuff when your comming in/leaving?

 

Who told you this and what was his/her source? In the past there have been only rent-a-cops on the property. Unlike some festies, Bonnaroo is on private lands so the Bonnaroo people are in charge of the (quite lax) security. Yes they "search" your car, but all they do is open your coolers to make sure you don't have any glass bottles (not allowed). If Bonnaroo this year is anything like last year, police presence is not an issue.

 

I had search trouble on the way in because I am dumb, if it is minor though they let you go. If there were 5-0 inside just remember, 80,000 people... no problem.

 

well the guy that told me is my friends roomate, so i guess thats not a great source. plus hes never been. i dont know where he heard it either.

 

and now that bonnaroo has bought some of the land i guess that would give it less chance of cops being in it am i right?

 

there are police to some degree, but dont worry you can get as fucked up as your little heart desires and and even tell the cop how fucked up you are if you feel the need...i asked some security guard/cop/thing on horseback for directions to centeroo i was so fucked up on acid and it was sooooo obvious i was on another level....he gave me directions that were nice and easy to follow

Weve been pulled by state troopers 2 out 4 times going to Bonnaroo. The first time they put us in the cop car for over 2 hours so they could search our car. They left the windows up with no air and I about died. Damn them!! They didnt find anything....lets just say it was right under their nose. hehe
The second time we had bible talk and they ended up letting us go. I had to do something....

 

well thats not good, i dont exactly feel at ease now..lol...but i guess there is always the chance of being pulled over. we will just have to hide everything really well and not take my car. (phish, beatles, and pink floyd stickers all over the bumper)

 

Twice?! damn that is unlucky. There was a magazine in TN gas stations that told you safe rules to follow when in KY and TN, one was to always pull over to other lane for stopped cops or emergency personal, a trucker slowed down to about 30 on the freeway and cut me off to follow this rule, so they must set up traps for it. Also it said that compartments like overhead carry on the outside of your car is your choice if they search it or not as long as it is locked. I dunno how true that one is though. Just go the speed limit and don't do anyhting dumb in your car while getting close in neighboring states.

 

i blazed a big old glass bong and smoked a few bowls of opium right in front of about 20 state police near the main road at bonnaroo... they just looked and passed by..

 

I am jealous about what you had in that glass contraption, for I was unable to locate any.

 

They said we were following too close to a truck, which was bullshit.. They had a huge spotlight in the middle of the highway profiling people..we got pulled about 10 mins after the spotlight....

 

this past year there was more cops on the outside ... where ppl tailgate ... like the wallmart parking lot ... or the exit over/b4 .. by the gas station and the winery ... ive actually seen undercovers in therir personal cars ... just sitting there with binoculars ... watchin ppl ... ive seen a few ppl get arrested ... it was total bullshit ... but they shoulda knwn better ... once u get in then u can go ahead n do ur thing .. sell ur shit .. but on the outside its still controlled by the cops ... the locals were the dickheads ... the staties that were hired just for that weekend were mad chill ...they were all partying @ the milton or marriot ( whatever that hotel is by wallmart) after like 11pm ... they were drinkin n shit ... pretty cool ppl.
once u get in ... the "cops" - more like security guards with flashlights ... ride their horses all day ... wear red ... so u can spot them from faaar away ... u can pass by em smokin a blunt .. trippin out .. doin whatever the fuck ya want ... they`re pretty much just there fto bust vendors w/o their permit ... n to brake up any if any at alll fights ... there just there 4 ur safety thats all ...

 

umm ... yea ur car gets searched when ur comin in ... only for any glass , weapond and fireworks .. there is NO glass alowed .. and they will take it .. if its not hidden of course ... so if ur bringin a bottle of sum alco ... u`ll have to put it in a plastic bottle ... or u can hide it .. like in ur camping chairs ... or tents ..

dude ... if u say any crazy ass firework coming out of the vip area for like 45 minutes straight on saturday ....... that was us ... we picked up like 500 $ worth of hit for my b-day ... like the cakes n the whistlers n allll kindsa shit ... it was great ... we were all tripped the fuck out ... it was my b-day .. oh it was so great ... then my bf tryed to walk out with the 100 pack of the whistle things n the motherfuckers on horses saw it stickin out from his bag so they grabbed his bag (which was on his back) n started dragging him around ... next thing i know theres like 6-7 horses in a circle n they had tom in the middle so we couldnt get to him ... i was soooo pissed n tripped out from the whole sittuation .. i threw my beer at the cop on the horse n it hit him in the back of the head ahaha ... then they finally got the fireworks n let tom go ... i was so pisse tho .. cuz all they had to do was say sumthin .. like HEY, u cant have those ... u will need to give them to us ... SUMHTIN ... but Naaah, they just fuckin grabbed him. i honestly thought the horse was gponna step on toms leg ... pisses me off just thinkin bout it ... the cop later was like ... And one of u threw a beer @ my head ... and i have a really good idea who it was ... i was like Fuck u ... im gonna go walk awa now and disapear into the crowd, n enjoy the rest of my b-day .

but yea as a conclusion ... hide ur fireworks when ya comin in ... cuz they`re expensive , n u dont wanna loose em ... there a few great fireworks places in virginia ... definatelly worth pickin sum up for the fest ... n on the way back for 4th of july ...

 

Don't worry about em. I pet the horses while tripping. Their fur feels good.

 

when i was driving in the southern states on my way to roo, there was at Least 1, if not more, fireworks shops every mile... id never seen anything like it.... crazy Southerners, haha!

 

yes yes ... uve gotta stop n shop in one of em ... some real deal fireworks here ... the cakes r the best ... they`re like 30-50$ but its like a 5 minute show ... good shit ... aah i cant wait to go!
