Favourite rock 'n' roll guitarist?

Page all the way, Zeppelin is the best band ever!

 

Its a tough pick between Hendrix and Page but I'm gonna have to go with Hendrix.

 

I chose gilmour because PF is freakin awesome but also i would vote for syd because there would be no floyd w/out him. Shine on You crazy Diamond. But also there is Jorma, he is another great guitarist. Jefferson Airplane rocks.

 

Right so maybe the other once are a bit more 'populair' but this guy is my favourite. I voted Jeff Beck

 

I was alarmed at the omission of Neil Young. Obvious choice for me, so I couldn't vote.

I have soft spots for John Lennon, and McCartney's lead guitar, which is quirky and earthy in a way the songs sometimes aren't, and I think he doesn't get enough credit. Davey Johnstone too. I go more for expressing of feeling than intricacy.

i picked hendrix but i really wanted to pick page, beck, clapton and garcia also.

 

Umm definately Jimi Hendrix I mean whoa who said Jimmy page well hes awesome but I think if you listen to the music of Hendrix you can plainly see that Hendrix got off on it and that no one did what he did man no one out there made it sound like him i think Stevie Ray Vaugn could have tho RIP

Steve Marriott should be on the list. I love Humble Pie and they don't seem to get much credit.

 

Slash, Satriani and Malmsteen all suck. Satriani and Malmsteen just constantly shred, and Slash is just plain boring. And Clapton's even worse. For ROCK guitarists it would have to be Billy Duffy from The Cult. Way better than Jimmy Page or anyone like that.

Poll lists are limited, so not every good guitarist can be on it. However, when you have ten rock 'n roll guitarists to make your poll with I wouldn't have added Malmsteen to it. A guitarist like Richie Blackmore should be on it though.
