Recently, I have been meditating most everyday along with yoga. One of the things I have noticed is that time seems to be moving slower. I know it sounds weird. For instance, when I get up in the morning and get ready for work I have extra time before I have to leave. Before I was always running late, now I have an extra 10 minutes or so. That is even after adding something new to my morning routine. At work, I am getting more done in less time. I guess it's the fact that I am more relaxed, but it really seems like time is being stretched for me. Has any one else experience this?
You are probably more efficient in your preparation due to the meditation, but I agree with you that it can seem like time really is slowing down. I find the more I live in the moment, the longer each day seems, the longer each hour seems. An hour of living in the moment can be a really long time!
it's sorta like when we were kids - remember how long it took for an hour to pass? it's because we were living in the moment! also because we had no real concept of time - it's a manmade construct, and easy to overcome if we simply stop paying so much attention to it, stop ascribing to our Type A society of "time is running out, the clock is ticking, etc." i've also found that not wearing a watch can do the same thing - puts us more in tune with the natural rhythm of things, as does yoga and meditation - i feel it makes us more aware and likely to utilize the natural flow of the universe during our daily lives, thus creating more ease and more "free time" wow, i just noticed we're all from the south - of course time moves more slowly for us - we know how to enjoy it, lol!
Years ago, I felt naked without a watch. I can't remember the last time I wore one, except for times I used it as jewerly. Got a few cool ones, actually I think the batteries are dead in them. lol It was so freeing to give it up. Ya'll are right, yoga and meditation have really helped me go back to living in the moment.
