Because of the way those sorts of drugs work on the brain, it inhibits whatever process by which psychedelic chemicals act on the brain. I'm not sure about all the physiology or chemistry, but I do know that some of my friends who have tried to trip that are on certain anti-depressants (some of which are MAOI's, other types are SSRI's and some others) didn't really trip at all, and wondered why people would want to trip so bad when all it is is just a real tight high/stone.
Dude, stop posing. I know that prbably many of you hardcore trippers use acid for somekind of enlightment, but still the majority does it for the sole reason of "getting fukt the fuk up" without giving a rat's ass about the spiritual side . Face it.
