If anybody has been to Turkey and has good general information, please post here. I am looking for good places to visit, day trips, hottels, restaurants, things to avoid... etc. Thank you balkantraveler
Hey Crazy Traveler, I've been to Turkiye. It's wonderful there. I suppose you can say I was in a touristy part of Turkey (Kusadasi) but you can't escape their great culture. There's plenty to see and explore. Turkish people treated us very well there. They were very polite and helpful. The food is absolutley amazing. You have to try the various Kebabs there. One of my favourite's is the Adana Kebab. Kusadasi Eating out is cheap. There's no such thing as fast food where I was really. There was a Burger king, but you would never see a Turkish person in there. Why would you even bother when all the food they have is fantastic. I loved to see the old people in the park smoking their Hookah pipes. It was such as sight. I would suggest, if you go, to get a famous Turkish bath. They're great. also from where we were you could get a a boat trip to the Greek island of Samos. it's a little island off the coast. It's beautiful there. The boat trip is lovely too. Ephesus is a superb place to visit too. Ephesus
I've been several times to Turkey. It depends why are you going there. If just for holiday - better go to Marmaris, Antalia or Kushadasi - they are all great resorts and quite cheap. Istanbul is nice place to go, but just for 2-3 days, no more - over 9 million people live in Istanbul (the unofficial statistics says they are 15 million), you will find very interesting places to go, many historical places like Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque.
There's plenty to see and to experience in Turkey. Ever heard of the Lycian Way? The Lycian Way belongs to the 10 most beautiful hikingtrails worldwide, and has a total lenght of over 500km, it starts in Ölüdeniz in southern Turkey and follows the coast up to Antalya. Something I can really recommend to you
well it depends on what kind of a holiday do you prefer. You can do lots of things in Turkey, if you are more specific about what you want, I can help you more
