Through my study of Islam and Christianity, I have found a very important difference between the two. In both of the Muslim holy books, the Hadeeth and the Qur'an, there is not one commandment to love Allah or our fellow humans. Throughout these texts, love is absent. To me the entire religion seems to be based upon fear, and if no love is involved, then, hate. It seems Muslims are taught to fear Allah, but not love him.

In the Bible though, the text is full of love. In the Bible, God is the embodiment of love. Jesus sayed that the greatest commandment is love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and body; and the next greatest is to love your neighbor as yourself. God is love, and He proved this by sending His son to die on a cross for our sins. That's true love; but Islam has no such ideology.

The following are verses and passages in the Bible that speak of God's love for us, and commands to love God and our fellow human beings...

I don't have time to quote sources atm, but I can tell you your 'research' on Islam is about as accurate as saying an apple's an animal.

Some people insist that Jews have orchestrated or influenced many many wars throughout the last few centuries but even if that was true they would not be doing this based on their actual religious instructions.
So I would just leave that out of there.

Christianity is an example of Anti-War teachings if you ever find it. The New Testament pretty much goes on and on and on about Peace, Love, Compassion, Patience, Loving your Enemies, being Kind, Sharing, Being 'one bigger' to Adversity,,,,
I mean its almost ridiculous by any of todays standards!
Most people cannot stand reading the New Testament for the very reason that it talks on and on about Peacemakers, Meekness, Reconciliation and Forgiveness.

Now to the Koran.
I actually had to stop studying the Koran because I was literally having nightmares and becoming depressed from the cruelty, darkness and overall ongoing instructions to slaughter, war and war and war against enemies, defeating enemies, pillaging and dont even get me started on the torture against enemies, looting, pirating, raping burning.
Lots of making people submit, bow down and come under the power of Islam whether they like it or not.
Just horrible.

Its been said before, you 'can' war in the name of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism (and all have been used as such),
but,
You have to do so 'in spite' of the teachings.
You have to 'abuse' those belief systems in order to hide behind their flags.

Not so with Islam.
Those Al Quaidas and Mujahadeen types... they know exactly why they do this and let me tell you, they can make a VERY GOOD arguement that they are the ones properly practicing the teachings of the Koran.
I mean seriously, they really are following the Koran.
In order to 'not' become a Bin Laden you have to really work on some fancy scripture interpreting to 'not' war in the name of Allah.

All that said, Mohammed really just gets all this from Old Testament Jews.
(its an arabic version of judaism).
You take the old days when the Israelites were basically 'Gods biker gang' and would go and pound out other tribes.

Well Mohammed pretty much just takes that idea but amps it up to an even MORE ferocious 'take-no-prisoners' level of intensity.

Thank God Paintballer takes an extremely 'liberal' interpretation of the Koran is all I can say.
Otherwise he might have been standing in a cave right now getting incinerated by some US 'bunker buster' missile like the Al Quaidas been getting lately.

 

If that's what you got out of the Qur'an, then you must have either had a poor interpretation, attempted reading with comprimised neutrality, or you have miscomprehended. There are statements regarding punishment, etc., but it is in relation to Shaitan (Satan) and evil in general. It is justified by Islam to defend oneself during war, it is against it to create one. The Qur'an states that sinners will go to hell, but for a limited amount of time, eventually everyone will arrive in heaven, not so with Christianity. I've been to Christian and Catholic churches, listened to their sermons; I've heard numerous accounts of sinners being condemned to hell forever, this does not seem very merciful to me.

In regards to Al Qaida, they are not Muslim, they are Shi'a. Please do not attempt to classify them in the same religion as I, Sunni and Shi'a are incredibly different.

 

OK, first of all, I'd still like to see some text that you are talking about from the Qur'an, because the text that I have read, doesn't back up your ideas.

As far as this whole Heaven and Hell thing goes, to say that everybody gets into Heaven eventually, sounds like a pretty big rationalization on Islam's part. It's scary to think that a holy and just god can dwell in the presence of sinners, because if so, then he must not be that holy.

Yes, it is true that in Christianity, not everyone gets to go to Heaven, but this is because God, even though He loves us unconditionaly, can't be in the presence of sin; but it's not hard at all to get into Heaven, because God, through His love, mercy, and grace, gave His only son to be killed in our place. God gave us His son to be killed for our sins, if that's not mercy, then I don't know what is. Jesus was crucified so that all who believe in Him, won't have to do this, this, this, and this to get into Heaven. All you have to do, is humble yourself before Jesus, and admit that you're a sinner who is not perfect, and needs God's forgiving love and grace, and your sins will be forgivin. God wants us to be with Him in Heaven, which is why He made it so simple.

 

I have studied many religions and I have to say that many of you are getting incorrect information. You are making conclusions based on incomplete facts. This breeds judgement and hatred. SOUNDS LIKE THE CRUSADES, TERRORISTS, ETC.

If you are going to condemn people and religions be sure you have all of the facts. Otherwise you are just creating more ignorance and ignorance is our biggest enemy.

 

I think we're far from the crusades, but why don't you give us the facts.

 

If I am wrong, I would like to be corrected with facts and evidence. I would like to see some text, if you guys ever find the time.
