I have several times read "Zen and the Art of Motorcylce Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values" by Robert Pirsig. I’ve been fascinated by it, though I don’t necessarily agree with everything he says, and from an English teacher’s perspective his technique of wandering from motorcycles to metaphysics, while making for an interesting read, means that it’s poorly organized. I’m now plowing through his next book, "Lila: An Inquiry into Morals" and am curious. Has anyone read it? Any thoughts about it?
I've read it a few times. ZAAMM was a great book (which I have also reads a few times) but Lila is much better. Both books must be read several times, I feel, to really grasp the depth of what Pirsig is saying. Great books, I'll discuss any part of either of this books that you like!
