I probably sound like a total retard, what is an op-shop? I live in a small town... we don't have lotsa cool stuff... so I'm lost *blush*.

    no you're not a retard.
no need to blush, either =]
i don't know what an op-shop is either.
    so don't feel bad.
    i just pretend i know.
then when someone goes into detail
i tend to pick up on it quickly, lol.

An op-shop's an 'opportunity shop', they're usually run by charities and have lots of el cheapo secondhand stuff. In the US they're called thrift shops, I think.

If anyone's up for another challenge, count me in!

I can't do over my *whole* wardrobe, coz I need nice boring ordinary stuff to wear to work, but I could do with some more funky stuff.

Question: I am one fat momma (it's not just gluttony, I've got insulin issues) and at the moment, I've got the clothes that actually fit in the cupboard, and then at least as much clothes again piled under my bed coz it doesn't fit but I'm hanging onto it as an incentive to lose weight.

Do you reckon I should chuck all the too-small stuff out, keep it but get funky stuff for the size I am now, or hold off on the whole idea until I lose some poundage?

Keep it! Keep it! Keep it!

Thats what my mom did, she had these one pair of jeans that she just loved, and wanted to fit into them so bad, so she ended up loosing like 40 pounds, and she finally fits in them! it's worth it!

And there no reason why you can't go by new stuff too! Do both, keep the old, and buy new!

Good luck! I wish you all the best!

wow Ethel, the de-cluterer in me says: toss what does not fit, but the realist says, keep a couple (TWO) items as incentive and trash/ thrift the rest.

I did it... most of the too-small stuff went at a garage sale today (we made $300 out of a heap of old crap like ill-fitting clothes and records we never play. I'm likin' this idea!) and my next move will probably be to do a big sort-out of: stuff that's too small but I'll keep anyway, stuff that fits and is worth keeping, and stuff that fits but I'm sick of and will either chuck out or re-model, and then I'll do up a list of extra bits needed to fill in the gaps.
