I have a regular glass piece about a foot and a half tall. The female end on the water bowl (where the slide goes, not sure what its called) broke off. Ive fixed it several times with hot glue but that only lasts so long. Im looking for a more permanent solution. Anyone else had this problem and are there any glass adhesives or bonding techniques you would recommend? thanx
Go to your local hardware store and pick up a small thing of epoxy. It's two different colored gels, usually clear, tan, blue, or white, that when mixed form a very strong bond. If you want a quicker fix use 1,250 lb epoxy, you'll only have to hold the bong in place for a few minutes at most. If you want a really permanent bond, use 2,500 lb, but you might have to hold it in place for up to half an hour. And make sure you get one that dries clear and says it's applicable to glass. It should be in the aisle with super glue and solvents and such.
ok, i didnt know there was specific epoxy for glass, i have a type of epoxy but i was worried bout inhaling shit, fumes etc.., cause it smells alot. ill give it a try, thanx
another option would be to just take the female peice out completely (usually it's a seperate peice of glass from the actual bong, cant really tell in the pic), and buy a new one. The sizes are pretty standard... check your local headshop.
yea.. thats the shitty thing about glass on glass.. tougher to repair.. you sure though that a slide kit wouuldnt fit? how clean is the break on the bong? the slide rubber might fit well in the hole still.. i dunno.. i cant tell with that pic.. i would need to see the break
wow... if we have one rule in this forum its this: Don't post pictures of Kermit the frog!!! hes gross! every other picture is fine, and we thank you for your contribution!
