I was just thinking about jobs I had when I was younger and the one that I remember the most is corn detassling. When I moved away from home and started to talk about this no one knew what I was going on about. Everyone thought I was talking about picking corn. It's sad because I think everyone that had suffered a summer in the corn feilds has some sort of weird bond. With that said, has anyone else here detassled corn or is it a south-western Ontario thing?
I've heard the horror stories but never bothered to experience them first-hand myself. I like my hands in the shape they're in. Pays alright, though.
