Considering there is a wink there... I believe you meant that sarcasticly but just in case you are all unsure of what the SOA/WHINSEC is, I'll fill you in.

In Fort Benning Georgia there was a school once called The School of the Americas (SOA) they trained South American militias in anti-terrorist tactics, but these tactics were often terror enducing. Many of the South American commanders who attened the SOA were directly linked from the school to their "death squads". In 2000 (or around there) the SOA was officaly shut down and then about 3 months later it was opened again under the name, Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation and is doing the exact same thing as the SOA. I actually printed off a copy of a text book used in one of the classes for the SOA the book was written by the CIA and is entitled, "Human Resource Exploitation Training Manual" and it is riddled with penciled in "corrections"

to check out more information on it:: www.soaw.org

what era was this school used mostly in? was this a training spot for the whole thing in the 80's where we were teaming up with the coke cartels to get the commies out of south america, leading up to the scapegoating and imprisonment of manuel noriega?

you seem a little closed-minded to be posting on forums like these.
    just an opinion, of course.

First off, I hope its cool that I post here. If its too old tell me.

OK. There is a protest every year before thanksgiving (Its the anniversary of when some nuns were killed by former students from soa)
I am going to that for sure. I'm part of the immersion program at my school, and me and some other people were interested in protesting.

If you don't understand what it is, SOA stands for school of americas, and it trains people from south american countries to become assasins and generals and that sort of thing. When they go back to their countries, they usually become known war criminals/murderers. Some people actually got a hold of a book from there and it had some pretty nasty stuff on how to torture people and stuff like that.
After a slew of protests they changed the schools name from soa to Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation. At the next protest, the people chanted things like "new name, same shame,"
The protest itselfis interesting, as the people march to the very edge of the public area to a line that, if crossed, will mean you can be jailed (unless you work their/ have permission) I think a lot of people purposely cross the line/ do things of that nature.
I am going to a seminar about it on Monday, so I'll get all the facts there, but yall should try to come.
