the world is really starting to embrace the hippy spirit of love

i really feel that's true

just look at how people think its so wrong to be hateful as in you can get arrested for hate speech which was not true just a few years ago or your career is sabotaged if you make homophobic or racist statements, etc

maybe if the world keeps evolving as it is, the congress will pass a law that everyone has to love everyone

just imagine how beautiful this world would be if everyone loved everyone

 

also, i have a new plan to keep the hippy in hipforums... tell me what you all thin?

many of the hippies here including myself are concerned about the dillution of hippy ideology and spirit due to the prescence of so many non-hippies... i've even mentioned to skip that the site be all hippy as in only hippies be allowed to post here but he didn't go for it... but i think he is only partially right

what i propose is a plan that both appeases hippies in their concern that the hippy spirit isn't dilluted by so many non-hippies and also one that allows for an influx of non-hippies without them totally inundating the site with all their non-hipness

this plan is what i call one of balance and harmonized growth

every non-hippy on the site must have a hippy sponsor and so by doing this we will always keep a balance of one hippy to one non-hippy

so what do you all think about this plan?

 

i find that too many young people think that they are a hippie by the choice of their clothing or music.but i think that they learn and understand more by participating on the forums.

 

I think everyone trying to register on Hip Forums should be required to submit an essay and a picture, and eligibility would be judged 50% by your written word, and 50% by whether you actually look like a hippie. The applicant would need to convince "The Board of Authentic Hippiness" by using hip verbal skills in their communication, and have their picture reflect the required 6 pieces of hippie flair. ( long hair and beards, beads, tye-dye, peace signs, flowers, etc.)
No posers, please.!!!!!

 

abe i have the hair to the ground and the beard but no beasds..no tye dyes..no p[eace signs (except the internaol peacefullness) no flowers except the oners i planted around the neighbourhood..

cowpie..the spirit of love is alive because we spread it day buy day, excl;uding non hippies will only hurt that

imagine cups of love..all these hippies are cups full of hippie love ..when we pour love from 1 full cup to anouther we stil only have a buncha full cups, accomplishing nothing at all..
but add a few non full non hippie cups & suddenly we have somewhere to spread that light.. somewhere we can add a bit of love and really accomplish something..

its not so much about love as it is unnecessary political correctness. well-off white folks are ashamed of what their ancestors did and have ingrained into us what they think needs to be "right" and what needs to be "wrong." and of course we aren't allowed to speak of the evils of our ancestors

ok its not a code its like a certain writing, talking pattern you encrypt into any story, lifestyle, teaching, mucho-etc. that comes from understandings from a surprising destiny like vault about growing prosperity in humanity and life and individual, well thats what is important here I guess. Is the way to happiness peace success or also greed and desire.

 

Exactly , where is the sense of humor here ! I suppose I am one who enjoys a little sarcastic humor, and I agree that sometimes this goes right over some peoples heads, and they do seem to take it too seriously.

Go to Random Thoughts Forum ,(Chief Cowpies identical thread is there too),and read the 7-10 pages where everyone posting there had a really good time with this thread. I read it all and laughed and really appreciated the humor, reflecting all the diverse thoughts on hippies and non-hippies,and the apparent ridiculousness of having these catagories in the first place, or the possibility of regulating Hip Forums according to how hip we really are. Funny!!

When I read this thread starter I didn't for a minute think anyone was trying to exclude anyone else, nor did I intend a serious interpretation of my first post, that I thought a authentic hippie test was necessary to participate on Hip Forums.I enjoy reading everyones viewpoint. Oh well, maybe everyone who wants to use humor to accentuate their post, should put tons of smilie faces, and animated laughing smilie gimmicks, and lots of lol lol lol lol lol lol 's.....and Ha! Ha! Ha!'s, so no one will misunderstand .!!!!!

Anyway, may our cups overflow with Hippie and Non-Hippie LOVE.

 

Well, the thing is - sarcasm doesn't work in text-based forums, especially with people who don't "know" each other well enough to just 'sense' when someone is being sarcastic. I suspected it being sarcastic for the extreme overtones etc, and realized it was just a statement for free speech essentially in a sarcastic form.. but with text it's about 4,3 zillion and a half times more difficult to detect sarcasm, especially if it's subtle and the reader is tired (and who isn't in today's hectic, chaotic world)..

Though I am all for non-smiley-humor, but I still think smileys when used -skillfully-, can add pleasant and positive weight (I won't say 'tone'..) to a sentence or statement.

I hate graphical smileys altogether (oldskool rulz! (; ), and any smileys that are over-used (which they generally are these days, oh brother (hmm, I mean.. 'oh, sister' actually I suppose ..)..

And perhaps sometimes I use them too much. But I still think that if smileys were used like they were generally in the BBS era before internet spread so widely to everyone's reach, it would only enrich and give more variety to the text-based toneless communication.

p.s. text-based formats are always difficult because of their toneless nature.. now imagine if I want to say something in a 'neutral' tone or a 'non-tone' .. and someone reads angry tone in it - the message can distort a thousand, if not a million-fold!

 

i dont really understand the idea of a hippy test. ( long hair, beard, beads tye dye, peace signs and flowers) that to me totally lableizes the whole being of a hippie. hippie to me is a state of mind not a visualization from your eyes, you cant see a hippy with your eyes you can feel them with your heart. i did like the idea of the essay but that's just because i like to write but i don't see how that is going to prove anything either and tell me who is on the " board of authentic hippiness" anyway i would like to know who is able to judge a mans heart and mind by the way he looks or may write in an essay. my only suggestion is for us as hippies in mind and spirit to just keep on spreading our peace and love and hope that those who may pose may soon catch a hold/ isn't that what were trying to do anyway?

I sometimes overlook the fact that the tone and mood in text can be misunderstood. I really dislike being misunderstood. It was because I was familiar with the thread starters(ChiefCowpies) style( its Ha Ha Ha Ha ), that I knew that his intention was to be the instigator of a humorous investigation, and so I replied accordingly.

Please, I don't want to seriously be thought of as someone trying to organize a hippie test of some sort, with essays and a strict dress code. I would have to be a crazy, narrow minded, and judgemental person, and that, indeed, I am not. I just really like to laugh !!!!!
