The problem with that belief is you feel there was only one Book that was hidden away by Rome, and we lost the orginal story. The Bible did not come together for hundreds of years after the death of Christ, and there was 50 or 60 some Books. And all of these Books had been copied hundreds of times so to think we only had one lone Book does not wash. Also, all of these Books are in agreement, and when you speak of the Old Testament, that Book was the reason the Christian faith is in existance today. The Old testament contained the 300 prophecies that was the key to understanding who Christ was. Without the Old Testament, no Christian would of even understood who Jesus Christ was suppose to be. Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament. You refer to one Book that was found, that gives a view oppsite of the Bible, well that comes as no surprise, they have been writing such books ever since Christ died on the cross. Yet I can point out to you thousands of Books that state the oppsite, and closer to the time of Christ death. Also, first century churches have been uncovered around Jerusalem, and what is of interest is some of those churches were attended by people who most likely were there to see Christ nailed to the cross. What is of intrest, is some of the churches are built in the shape of a cross. The bible speaks of two prophets coming after Christ, and this will take place during the great Tribulation. And these prophets will point to the salvation that can be found in Christ only. Without the sheeding of blood, there can be no forgivness of sin. Jesus Christ is the lamb that has been slain. And Salvation can be found in Him only.

That is interesting. So when a cop pulls you over, what is the first thing he asks you? He asks you for your license because he wants to know your full name. Your full name is very important to obtain credibility with the cop. So who were Mat, Mark, Luke, and John? Do they have last names, who were they. I believe that the Bible was initially the word of God but medieval kings and other leaders changed things in the bible that have given the bible a questionable standing. I do not know anymore what is the word of god in the bible or what is the word of some King Henry or some other power hungry leader.

Why does a Christian have to go to church and repent to a preast so sins can be forgiven. Cant a person just ask God? I am only questioning because I dont know, no offense meant toward anybody, respect. :)

Today we have transcrips that predate the medieval kings, so we can clearly see that they did not change, or pervert the orginal thoughts, and I might add, we have many such copies. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, were choosen men of God, who were deeply involved in Christ ministery.

I am a Christian, but I have not been to church for a long time, my job prevents me from going. Yet, you don't have to be in a church to ask God to forgive you. God will hear you, no matter where you are, because God can do anything. The Bible only incourges people to go to church, because of the fellowship you can have with other believers.

I hope everyone is aware that people back then had the first names.
A Distinction might be made like 'Saul' would be known as 'Saul of Tarsus' for example.
    Anyways,
This is really common and its not like we are missing last names here.

There is some interesting point to this though.
Take for example the Revelation of John.
It really does not clarify which specific 'John' this is and that might sound like a pretty good technicality,
    but,
In this case there is a 'rational assumption' and this is to say that because the author claims the name 'John' and feels no need to clarify this to the Churches - we can assume this is 'The John'.

Imagine getting a letter from the 'Cher fan club' and its signed by 'Cher'.
Well its true that maybe there are other 'Chers' in her family or other Cheryls too... you know its 'The Cher' by the very fact she does not distinguish herself.

Anyways, just throwing that in there... kinda amazed someone thought it was 'unusual' that they just use the one common names like 'Matthew' Mark etc.

If God can hear me, no matter where I am, because God can do anything, why then do I have to go through Jesus to get to God, cant God hear my prayers without Jesus contecting my call to God?

You have to understand what you are asking here.

You are asking us to suppose the Christian theology were correct (this is part of your presumption for the follow up)... so then 'why would you need Jesus in between'.
Its a 'wrong question' CT and you gotta keep this in order.

If (as you propose) this Christian theology were the case - then when you do pray to God you are also praying to Jesus.
When you make a request known to God you would be making it to Jesus.
They are 'essentially' the same God.

I think whats happening is you are getting confused by the way the word 'person' is used describing the trinitarian concept.
    That totally understandable.
Because of human limitations in language and concepts we are forced to use the term 'person'.
Unfortunately it does give an idea of a 'separate and distinct entity 'as opposed' to another'.

But, in your question (which supposes the trinity) you dont have a problem with an 'extra' god.
There isnt any Jesus 'between' God.

So, its not possible for there to be a 'switchboard operator jesus' since he cant be something 'else'.
Maybe the closest would be suggesting Jesus is Gods own 'fibre optic cable' itself.
But not something 'outside' the switchboard (and now we have 'hubs').

So while God and Jesus are one, then God is Jesus, but Jesus is God, and the holly spirit is Jesus, while they are all one. While God was Jesus, who was being God? While Jesus was eating and thinking about how to guide people into believing in God, why would he think about guiding people to believe in him (Jesus) if he wanted the people to believe in God, like I said, Jesus never claimed to be God, thats a fact, is it not?

These questions have been answered directly by several members in several different posts.
Why are you asking them again in a slightly different (and more confusing sounding) way?

God does hear your prayers, but God has given all authority to Jesus Christ. Trying to talk to the Father by going around Christ is an act of rebellion. You are trying to do away with God's natural order. You would also be telling the Father you don't care about His Son's death on the cross. The Father will hear your prayers, but only Christ will act on them.

    John 20:28,29

And Thomas answered and said unto him, (Jesus) My LORD and my GOD.
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have BELIEVED.

Who was Thomas God? It was Jesus.

There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are ONE.

no he wasn't god. but he wasn't a madman either. what he was is a charismatic leader who, in a sense "channeled" god. or something godlike that claimed to be god or a god.

nor was he entirely unique in doing so, but was rather one of such individuals who come along approximately every 1000 years. mohammed came after him and moses before.

neither are they unique to western montheism but rather the revealers of every major organized belief were of a similar nature. even those who did not espouse monotheism nor proclaim a single god.

the most recent of these was baha'u'llah, who, in 1863 also warned that anyone claiming this station before the passage of another thousand years from that date, would assuredly be a lying imposture.

do i believe this to be accurately real? i believe it to be one of several very real possibilities.

I'm sure that to a catholic, that is a vile heresy.
All three persons of the trinty are equal - at least that's what they told me.

However, I don't think Jesus was god. He was made into a god perhaps by his followers as they began to deviate from whatever it was he taught.

Jesus didn't come out and say that He was God, because that would've defeated his purpose. He wanted us to figure out for ourselves that He was the Christ.

Say what you want about Jesus Christ, but He was the only one that fulfilled the 300 prophecies of the Old Testament. If you know someone else who did this I would love to hear about it.

If you recall Jesus praying to His Father shortly before He was led to the cross, and He said Father if it is possible let this cup pass from Me. And then He said, yet let YOUR will be done. Jesus was pointing out that the Fathers will, was more important than His own.

And you might also recall when Thomas said to Jesus that He was both his Lord and His God, Jesus then called Thomas blessed for understanding who He was, and then Jesus said, blessed are those who have not seen yet believe.
Jesus was the Mighty God that the Old Testament spoke of that would come to save men from the sin of this world.

And please tell me where did you get this information suggesting that Jesus followers began to deviate from whatever it was he taught?
And if you don't know what Jesus taught, how do you know they deviated from it?

every bit just as many. not to mention christ himself was a "jonny come lately" compared to indiginous traditions, 'eastern' beleifs, and many others.

nor are such arguments particularly meaningful nor pertinent in any case.

anyone who honestly and really does their homework would already know this.
