    Hi All,

I've seen at least one post on this subject before, but I thought "what the hell", lets awaken it again. I will be in Amsterdam between 28.02-4.03, and I want to propose to my girlfriend.

Anyone have suggestions for locations, etc...? I have been in Amsterdam many times so I know the city quite well, I am looking for something a bit more extravagant than - "on the canal bridge at night" sorta stuff.

    Thanks,
    Indicava

    On a private Canal Cruise.

    On a Carraige Ride.

On a park bench in Vondelpark.

    In a Coffeeshop... LOL!

    Just some suggestions...

    Best of Luck!

If your budget allows, I would take her to dinner at Restaurant Vermeer (at the NH Barbizon Palace), arrange for the server to bring the ring as the last "course," and then propose.

I proposed to my wife during a very romantic time and place. It was at The American Hotel's sunday jazz champange brunch, after the terrific buffet meal. I got down on one knee, in front of everyone there and proposed. I could kinda see that a lot of people were looking at us. After I proposed, the whole room started clapping and asking what her answer was. She said YES! :) After I composed myself and sat back down, the head waiter brought over 2 more glasses of champange and 2 pieces of some very nice cake, *on the house*. It was a very romantic and enjoyable time for both of us. We will never forget the hospitality and kindness that was shown to us by the staff at the American Hotel. Good luck to you, indicava! Peace.

Nice story and good to see you here Puffin. If you would be so kind sir as to provide me with some info on a side trip for the best weed you can point me toward this time. Also PM me with anything you suggest seeing\doing\visiting for a frequent visitor that is not on the mainstream radar.

Cool! What a romantic spot (one of the best in A'dam). It's a trip to go there for brunch. The art deco decor rivals the Tuchinski. :)
