I'm kind of bored of seeing the same stuff over and over again on iTunes, and I know that there are a lot of people from around the world on this board, so let me know what's new and cool or old and good from where yall are from. I want to hear some new stuff (and unlike most Americans I am open to music that I've never heard of before, even if it's in a language I don't speak. What are you listening to?
Heres some of my favorite bands. Kind of a mix between folk/psychadelic/shoegaze/rock/electronic/hip-hop. i dont know what you listen to in the first place, so im just gonna put them randomly Neutral Milk Hotel Aphex Twin Velvet Underground My Bloody Valentine Modest Mouse Nick Drake Madvillian Broken Social Scene Brian Eno Devendra Banhart Of Montreal Sigur Ros Sonic Youth Mirah Joanna Newsom
i am going to be a loser and suggest the album in my sig i very recently discovered Elliott Smith's self-titled album... i had never really given it a chance before, but it is awesome... just a shade below Nick Drake's Pink Moon when it comes to that kind of music
I'd check out.... Slightly Stoopid Tool A Perfect Circle Cold Theory of a Deadman Revis Pepper Kenny Wayne Shepherd Oleander Outspoken Default I don't know what you like, so its hard to say what you would like.
i'd go to a website by a guy named serge koslovski and fallow the links from his link page to the various band web pages he has listed, each of whome, in tern, have links to other bands on their pages. i guarantee you hear and find some wonderful stuff you won't ever hear on clear channel, and probably not on i-tunes either. then there's also archive.org, a whole universe to check out, all completely legal and above board in every way. www.mkmk1.com/kozlovsky/ www.archive.org there are, of course, many many other places, which in time you will stumble upon as you wander and ramble arround the net. =^^= .../\...

I've said it before and I'll say it again...It doesn't get better then Xavier Rudd. Defintely worth the time to check him out!
I think these are great because I can always put them in and dig 'em. They never get old to me. In no particular order: Wire Train, "No Soul, No Strain" Catherine Wheel - "Ferment", and the blue coloured cd with the song "Crank" on it Kraftwerk - the one with "Music non stop" on it.. (might be called Boing boom chak) Steely Dan - "A decade of steely dan" Ernest Chausson - i guess anything i own, he died young in a bicycle accident so i don't think he was terribly prolific. the symphonic poeme is great! or whatever it's called that begins (1st movement) with a piano bass octaves playing E - A - D (i think).
