Does this make me gross?

I'll admit it: I only brush my teeth once a day, instead of the often-touted twice daily. I do brush them every night, but the thing is, in the mornings I'm usually out the door as soon as I finish eating.

Plus, for some reason brushing them in the morning gives me a stomach ache. And I really don't get people who brush them before breakfast--first of all, assuming you brushed them the night before and you haven't eaten in the middle of the night, why do they need cleaning? Some people say they do it to get rid of morning breath, but I don't really think I get morning breath--I use mouthwash at night, and that usually takes care of it. Besides, I'm not really with anyone who'd care.

The other thing about brushing before you eat--doesn't it make your food taste nasty? Anyone ever had orange juice right after brushing your teeth? Bleh! I do go to the dentist twice a year and I don't get cavities. So...am I gross?

While your sleeping your mouth is probably open at some point or another and all the germs and bacteria can get in there, causing bad breath and general grossness.

 

i brush my teeth like once every2 days, but i use mouthwash everyday hto, its just so much faster and easier

im exactly the same, i brush my teeth at night and if i do it in the morning i feel sick too.

 

make sure you're not using a fluoride toothpaste. if you're getting a stomach ache after brushing your teeth, that's probably why. use an all-natural fluoride-free toothpaste.

 

Right on the money, i used to throw up some mornings after eating then brushing my teeth, at the very least I would feel sick. I use toms all natural toothpaste and theres no problems now.

Brushing your teeth once a day does not make you gross. I usually forget to brush mine at night, although Im trying to be better about it!

If youre getting a stomach ache it is because of the fluoride like those good people said. I ALWAYS eat before I brush my teeth because accidently swallowed toothpaste is horrible on an empty stomach, and no fun on one with food in it either.

 

i just think it's kinda gross when people go for days without brushing... but once a day, ok in my book. i prefer to brush twice a day, however. it's personal preference really.

 

I only brush once a day. Usually after I'm out of the shower. If I don't shower that day then my teeth get brushed after I'm done eating my first meal.

Yeah, I just learned the truth about floride and I'm damned pissed they tricked so many people for so many years. I'll never give my kids floride. I use tom's of maine too. I like it, but it doesn't leave your mouth feeling as clean as some of the stronger minted toothpastes. That's why I use mouthwash. Some of my friends are REALLY anal about oral hygeine--one of my friends brushes after every single time she eats anything--even a snack! She brings her toothbrush and toothpaste with her everywhere. I was kinda getting insecure there for a while

Just ask them for no fluoride next time, I almost felt wierd asking at first but it turns out theres a lot of people who dont want it.

i brush my teeth when they need brushing. whenever that is. usually in the morning or at night or both, but if i forget they probably didn't need to be brushed that bad or i'd have noticed and remembered.

i can't use toothpaste at all because it all blocks up my throat and makes me gag and not be able to breathe. i don't care if that makes me weird, i like breathing.
