I am going for the arts festival thats on that weekend of course Its an annual thing... there are special exhibits up in the museums and arts and crafts stalls in the streets through the city! Can't wait! Love Clairexxx

I was gonna check with Tourist Info at the airport when I arrive... apparently hostel beds are less than a tenner and you dont have to pay til you leave Whats this "nice hostel" thing though? Love Clairexxx
Welcoming all eager backpackers to the entertainment capital of The Netherlands, The Boneheads hang around Central, cough "CENTRUM" Station with promises of finding you the cheapest hostel in the city. Sometimes its a setup for a good pick of the pocket, or a mugging, or they'll just drag you round the block to a crappy place and charge you for it. Ahh, what a city. A thousand stoned teenagers, a thousand conmen. Such memories...

heya! Hope this isn't a little late, but i went to Dam last year for the same event, and found a wonderful little campsite http://www.campingzeeburg.nl/ It was REALLY friendly, not too far from central dam, and cos its right on the edge of a lake, you even get the occasional wake-up call from a nosy duck!! Cost us about £4 per night including tent and i would highly recommend it! They have ickle wooden cabins for extra comfort... Theres also an amazing little commune hidden nearby, all the residents are metal sculptors, artists etc - it kicks ass!!! hope u have an awesome time!
There are loads of good squats in amsterdam, and if you are only going for a short period of time you won't have to worry about eviction too much. Even if a raid did take place, each squat already has its next place lined up.Everyone i know who has squatted in amsterdam reckon its better and more fun than hostels.
ah, u r safely in the dam.. without getting accosted by strangers, or falling out of the plane. u still have about half a day to enjoy so have lots of fun and remember to smoke all your weed before you try and come back on the plane... the pilots dont like the smell(apparently). take it easy.. see you soon
