I found this album from Richard Pryer a few years ago while going through my dads old record collection. Fucking hillarious!!! His take on acid was probably my favorite part. Some 'white guy' have him some and he asked whitey... "What is this shit?" "It's far out maaan," the hippy replied. "No. I mean...WHAT IS THIS SHIT MAN?" "It's far out!" His whole trip was one of the funniest I've seen/heard in comedy. Anyone else ever hear of the album "Bicentennial ******"? It was preformed infront of a live audience so there might be a video out there somewhere. If so, I'd love to get ahold of it...
I think he's probably inspired every black comedian in the United States. If not, close to it... I like his older stuff was a lot better, when his style was still new.
I just listened to it, and about half the time he was talking about acid. Well after all, it is that great!
