Hi all Please forgive me if this has already been made public here; I couldn't use the search function for some reason. Hopefully, most of you may already have heard about it, but last year, a large-scale cannabis contamination came to light in France, Germany, then the UK (here it is in response to Operation Keymer, a series of large police raids that took place on growers last Summer). As I write, the UK is still suffering, and clean cannabis is very, very hard to come by; what is about is often damp, badly cured, overpriced or underweight. Despite our repeated bombardment of the local and national press, news stations, MPs and all others in a position to do something, we only got a PublicHealth Warning issues here in the last few weeks, so a number of people have been reportedly hospitalised, and many, many millions of others smoking this stuff, possibly with no clue about it's existence, or what to look out for. While this is predominantly a European issue (it is now starting to appear in Switzerland, too), pictures reached me last week of some turning up in New York, so this is something everyone needs to be made aware of. The only officially confirmed contaminant at this stage is silica beads - - but bearing in mind that the government are not exactly busting their balls to bring us the latest, here's a quick list of other known or rumoured contaminants that have been found (more may emerge; I shall update this thread regularly): Sand Brick dust Glue Sugar water Brix products Ground glass Fibreglass particles Wherever possible, know your product, know your dealer, grow if you can, and if you can't, test the product before you part with any cash. To test for contaminants: - Dampen a finger and pres it into the buds, or into the trichomes (the shiny bits on the leaves and buds). - Put the finger in your mouth and scrape it along your teeth. - If you taste grit or a hard texture when you bite down, the weed is contaminated. Inhaling silica can cause long tem respiratory diseases, notably silicosis which can be fatal years after exposure to the particles. Inhaling fibreglass can cause 'farmers lung' type infections, and asbestosis, which can be fatal. Inhaling glass particales can cause cuts to the mouth, sore throats and chest pains. Basically, smoking anything that you haven't paid for, that could potentially harm you is not good. There is a ton of info here: www.ukcia.org and here: www.lca-uk.org Please spread the word, people. Be vigilant! Peace ZG
that sucks, i mean, we get some wet beasters(dank) around here sometimes, but nuthin that bad, oh, and like herbalize said, how is that shitt gettin into the buds?
iv been hearing and seeing this shit since the end of the summer here in the uk, basically at the end of the festival season in england we always get abit of a baron spell. So people to make a few bar extra an by people i mean people who move weight have been sandblasting it an if what i been hearing and reading they can add nearly a 1/3 of a kilo by doing it jus when the buds are ripe and sticky as this shit hangs on and as the bud drys out this stuff is incased. hope i wasnt rambling and made some sort of sense Laterz....
that is so incredibly fucked up, growing your own buds is the best way to be sure you get clean stuff anyway.
I can't see anyone I buy from puttin that crazy shit in there. It's a crazy world, you gotta love the good ol' friendly country folk.
