I know we have a lot of game/gaming threads, but I wanted to make one for exclusively single-player games. It's always fun to play with other people, but what are some great games to play by yourself (lol, "with yourself", Cartman would say)? I mean no MMORPGS either (i can't get into that stuff since WoW)!

This can be online games, console, computer, or really anything. I'd say limit it to 'virtual' games, though real-life games can count too.

    - Civilization IV
    - Journeyman Project (part 3 - these games are cool, you travel around in time and visit different time periods and stuff...)
    - Resident Evil (scary fucking shit)
    - Super Mario
    - Red Alert: Command and Conquer

Anyhow, there's tons of them, so get to listing!

The Metal Gear Solid series is my favorite. Other than that I pretty much prefer to play my NES. Super Mario Bros 3, The Legend of Zelda, Star Tropics, Double Dragon, Blaster Master, Maniac Mansion, Captain Skyhawk, you know real old school shit.

ya I like the classic mario and sonic games on nes and sega. other than that prolly fight night round 3 and burnout revenge. along with the metal gear solid series, I mean wow what storys they got. I still remember when the one on psone came out, had top ratings in the magazines for a good year.

F.E.A.R. is a fun one to play when your stoned but it really creeps me out sometmies.

Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion: that game is freakin huge....beautiful to look at....fun to play...so much to do. Awesome game.

I like to run the dynasty mode or franchise mode in Madden and NCAA Football as well. Nothing like taking a team in a crappy conference to the national title after a few seasons.

The whole GTA series for obvious reasons.

The whole Final Fantasy series for more obvious reasons.

Single player games are fun, but there is nothing like putting a bullet through the head of another actual player in game online.

Half Life 2, although counter strike is addictive, the single player of that game is pretty fun.

As soon as I came in here 4 games popped into my head, and they're all taken! Civ IV, Star Wars: KOTOR I + II, and Oblivion are my favorites. Any of the Splinter Cells are fun, and I have The Sims on my Xbox.

Ah yes I forgot all about Splinter Cell. I really enjoyed the first one but failed to play any of the newer ones. The gameplay is very addictive which is great for that genre.

Sorry, but my favorite games are all pretty old... to me, anyway.

For the N64: Ogre Battle 64, Person of Lordly Caliber
For the Computer: Black and White
    Starwars Rebellion
