It won't change anything, but at least it demonstrates that some of the elected officials understand what the last election was about. I am sure the senate will fail to pass their's again today. I find it strange that we aren't actively looking for Bin Laden but fifty percent of the republicans that spoke brought up his name in the form of the big bad boogeyman. I am sure that will cement the republican base that tend to think that the Iraqi war is making us safer.
I'll talk about it. I'd marry Nancy Pelosi if I could. (She's a lot older than me, but I'm in love with her. Toss in Boxer for a 3some.) Hopefully this resolution will act like the first in a series of dominoes. The people have spoken.
Thanks for replying Bongish guess no one else here feels it's worth commenting on. That's actually sad.
Oh, yes, Nancy Pelosi is my hero. I truly believe she's out there looking after me, concerned about my well-being and safety. I would have commented sooner, but, as you yourself said, it won't change anything. I have been studying this long enough to know that it doesn't matter what the politicians claim to want or be against. Whatever the agenda at the top is, that's the agenda that is always carried out. This resolution really amounts to nothing. Time will tell if I am right or wrong, but I am pretty sure I am right. And what difference does it make when you live in a dictatorship, where the president claims to be above the law? As far as I am concerned, the Democrats are every bit as complicit as the Republicans in terms of the fascistic direction in which this country is headed. Can somebody tell me what the Democrats have done since they took control over the House and Senate. Have we seen any change whatsoever? No, of course we haven't. That's because the two-party system is an utter joke.
I know this resolution won't change anything, but the fact that it was pushed in the house to the point of legislators going on the record is major. For that I am thankful. Of course the senate sidestepped once again. McCain made a point of being away from Washington once again. I for one want those elected to office to go on the record. Those that don't have the balls won't have my vote or respect in the future.
I think that those who at least stood up to podium and made a statement, let the administration know that they don't have a signed blank check any longer. I think that's what we voted for in the last election. And I am not a big fan of Pelosi. She's under my scrutiny as much as any other elected politician at this time. If they want to spend my tax dollars I want to know on what, and what amount of oversight is going to be enacted.
