I've had this problem in the past and it's recently resurfaced: I can't fall asleep. Whenever I drift into the first stage of sleep my body wakes me up. Sometimes it's a pop of light. Monday: I was eating and stabbed myself with a fork, Tuesday I kept falling, Wednesday I had a bug crawling on my arm, it's always something, and it happens throughout the night. I'm getting ready for a trip and I’m thinking it could be underlying stress. It's horrible though when it goes on all night, it's also very scary, having your body automatically wake you up whenever you begin to fall asleep. How about taking any medicine. Will it work n give me the sleep that I want.
I've had that problem before, and it's usually born from caffeinated beverages, as well as added anxiety/stress. Sometimes I'll fall flat on my ass while skateboarding, other times I'll find myself still in the dream, yelling at the physically sleeping body of mine, and it will keep me up all fucking night. I don't suggest medicine for this sort of thing (because you may become dependent), but try to eliminate as much stress (as well as stimulants) from your daily life and hopefully you'll have better luck sleeping. Good luck!
apart from the usual anxieties/stresses/caffeine intake, etc., insomnia sometimes occurs because our subconscious mind is afraid to look at and work through certain issues that we may or may not be aware of. when we sleep, it gives our subconscious mind a chance to reorganize, sort things out and address problems/issues - if there is something we are fearful of looking at, it can prevent us from getting some much needed zzzzzzs
