Yep...that's how long it took today just to get my car out of it's parking spot.

Yesterday we couldnt get the cars to move at all... had to cancel our valentine's day plans but we're going out tonight instead.

I was outside from 8 am to 11 am today with an ice pick and shovel trying to get INCHES of packed down snow/ice away from my tires. This stuff is so hard to shovel. My husband's car is still stuck because he had to park at a worse place.

I don't ever remember packed down icey snow like this that is so difficult to move.

Well, that is in Switzerland. I just thought it was a cool picture.

Oddly enough though the type of ice/snow we have right now is different but almost just as bad as that.

I would have to take the pick and bash at the ice over and over again before I can get anything by the shovel.

Last night an AMBULANCE got stuck on our street!

Yeah I heard you guys got 2 to 3 feet up there. We only got about seven inches but the last three inches of it was sleet and it's so horrible because the whole way down those seven inches is just solid like a rock.

There were people stuck on a highway for about fifteen hours (not moving at all) close to here!

My boyfriend's co-worker was stuck in that! He left his work at 1 o clock yesterday and didn't get home until 8 o clock this morning! my boyfriend almost went and picked him up but it was like a 2 hour drive from where we are. the guys wife was so pissed at him becase she told him not to go to work yesterday! haha. seriously, though, that had to suck. i bet a lot of people ran out of gas.

Yeah, I'm all sore and bruised up from shoveling yesterday, my arms still ache something fierce; that snow was heavy as heck. My upper right thigh is one big bruise from the way I was shoveling, the handle was hitting into my thigh when I was pushing it across the way. I don't want to have to shovel snow for a long time to come, that's for sure. I've had my fill.

    Sweet jesus.

Man, last time I've ever seen snow and a shovel together in the same setting was 15 years ago.

Can't you cover your car with a bedsheet or anything which would just make the task of de-icing it easier?

Yeah that would have helped with the windshields but not with getting inches and inches of ice away from the tires. haha.

    Man.

At least you have an infinite supply of ice cubs.

You can now enjoy an ice cold coke outside in the snow :D

Heh, I'd've tried using a blow-drier to see if it would've helped. At least enough to get into the car and turn it on and crank up the heat to try and melt a bit of hte ice on the car. I'm so glad I bus instead of driving some days, like after blizzards.

the weather lately has had me wishing that i could fit my car in the garage. dave's working on that. it's not that big of a deal, except i have two little ones i can't leave alone more that a couple minutes without at least one trying to kill the other or herself. complicates matters.
