Hello! Now that I have a new second hand computer I am in the position to take a chance and try to fix some things on my old computer.( if I goof up at least I will still have 1 computer) I also have 2 junk computers that can’t even find their hard drives so I think I should learn how to work in BIOS. But I am a little bit stupid and a little bit scared to start working on them. (because it might prove that I am really – really stupid) I am hoping some one on this forum can recommend a site that offers free –easy information about working in BIOS. Cheers!
Why do you feel the problems of your old computer are in the bios settings. That's not usually the case.
I found these links http://www.cyberwalker.com/article.php?id=28 http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm you should also check if the flat cables properly connect to the hard disk and mainboard also check if the flat cable is not damaged..... hope it helps....
Hello and thank you for the quick reply. One of the problems with my old computer is it no longer has sound. And I am pretty sure it is because my youngest Son went into BIOS and disabled a setting. (he meant well just didn’t no what he was doing) I am just presuming that to get the 2 junk computers to recognize their hard drives I will have to go into BIOS. Mostly I just want to learn some things so I can take care of or fix my computers and I thought learning about BIOS would be a good start. Cheers!
Hello! I also thank you for the quick reply. I just checked out those links and can see they are going to be very helpful. Cheers!
