My lil doggie Lucy is very sick again. She's been on and off prednazone (sp?) for about two years now, and seems like she's steadily declining. It really hurts me to see her in such unbearable pain (shaking, moaning etc. It's terrible). Apparantly she is suffering from inflamation and extreme joint pain (which i know med. marijuana has been proven to ease in humans). Anyway- my parents are putting her back on prednazone but i was wondering, would it be practical to feed her some bud? Or would it be too much for her to handle, and make her heart rate go too fast and kill her? Has anyone else ever done this before? Also, is it fine to mix prednazone and bud? If i were to do this tho, it'd have to be stealthily because my parents already vetoed this idea. Thanx !
ok weed isnt some magical disease curing plant. It MIGHT help for an hour or so, i sure as hell wouldnt risk it with my dog, i love that thing way 2 much.
lol so as expensive as weed is ur willing to feed it to ur dog? wat like ur willing to give the dog like 2grams of weed like every 5hours?
What I used to do was throw a blanket over my friend's dog's cage and smoke a blunt with him and the dog. His dog had a tumor... Then I was like "No thunder, don't hit jerome, you'll break it" but he had to try and hit the bong. Sadly enough... I got a Good Stash and a heady-ass Molino to replace it, and a couple 2 for 30 spoons, hah. Tis gone now.
i dunno about that. prednisolone will counter the inflammation and marijuana will exasperate it. marijuana is more of a human pain killer, it acts on the mind more than the pain itself. i suggest not doing it. if you do, dont feed it to teh dog, smoke teh dog out and see if it looks better afterwards
if you want to, just blow smoke in its ear, but dont waste weed by feeding it to it. it might make it feel better for a little while, but in the long run it wont do anything...
fucking put the dog to sleep how can u live with yourself to see a trusty companion like your own dog in constant pain as u describe? thats horrible! if my dog ever was so sick, so injured, lost a leg etc. i couldnt do anythig with myself but to put him down, it's not worth it any other way.
if your dog lost a leg you would put it to sleep? thats fucked up, there are dogs who live perfectly happy lives with only 3 legs... now if it was horribly sick and couldnt be treated or was in pain all the time, then yeah put it to sleep
LoL, obviuosly you don't live in the city? Like, literally half of my freinds dogs have only three legs! And there perfectly happy. But beyond that, do people with severe joint pain and inflamation opt to be put to sleep? Not that I know of! Why would you put the fucking dog to sleep! Unless your dogs dieing a slow death, I don't think you should go playing god. It's like this TV show I saw a few nights ago... Dog gets hit by a car, before the owner can get to it some cops come along and shoot the dog in the head(To put it out of it's misery...)! ! ! The owner was devistated until later that night when, at the vet(Or wherever they take dead animals) the person on duty heard yelping from the freezer. He opened it up, and there's the dog Sitting up! They ended up going into surgery with him and he lived! Nothing wrong except bad hearing now! I would have sued the hell out of the police for that one... ~DubG
Agreed 100% If the dog was in constant pain, and there was nothing i could do about it, then i would agree with digital. But having 3 legs isnt enough in my opinion to put it to sleep.
i'd put my dog to sleep if he got 3 legs or was very sick because it's cruel not to imo my dog, a purebread fuckin husky who builds his LIFE on his 4 legs, running fast, pulling hard, being a strong dog, to see how fast he runs now, to be put in the position where he stuggles and knows he is not the same??? a good dog does not deserve this
umm he's a dog... i don't think he would experience that feeling of loss and not "being the same". anyways, poor doggy.
mebe you could smoke a dog up that is on prednesone but prednesone takes years off a dogs life(my dog got taken off it for this reason.) for the first time i actually agree with digitalldj if a dog is in constant pain then i would put him to sleep. sorry, but i dont think a 3 legged dog needs to be put down, im gonna have to put down my dog pretty soon because he has hip displasia, it sucks because he was my first dog ever and im gonna miss him
you don't think dogs have a sense of awareness? I think if any animal loses an important limb, they'll experience a 'feeling of loss'. Maybe not the way a human would. He probably won't get depressed about it and go on Prozac, but it'd be there.
All im saying is that all the three legged dogs I know (And I know three of them) are HAPPY. Why would you kill a happy dog? ~Dub (PS. this IS getting a little stupid now, lol...)
We get our dog stoned all the time, and I don't know about the pain (he's a very VERY healthy 1½ year old pup) but it sure relaxes him. Sometimes, the second you start rolling a joint, he'll sit beside you... then follow the joint around the circle until he's had enough. Sometimes he'll take enough to put him to sleep, sometimes he'll have a couple hoots and sit beside me or my husband and pant with a huge ass smile. It sure seems to keep him calm/happy, we've smoked him up since he was a wee little one and he's incredibly well-mannered and well trained, and training was pretty fucking easy for us. I don't know about putting a dog down for losing a leg, though. No, I'm not arguing with you Digital (but you should know that by now, haha) but my dog is my baby and he KNOWS it. He's bullmastiff, rottie, boxer and lab (mom was a purebred bullmastiff, so he's massive) and he's just really hitting his playful puppy stage, but still. I couldn't see losing him over a leg. I couldn't watch him sick and in pain all the time, but I'm sure, knowing that we love him and will still play with him, and that he can still run and play with his brothers and go for walks and lick kids' faces and go for rides in our Mustang and do all the other things he just absolutely adores, he'd still have a good doggie life with three legs if it ever happened. That being said, he IS an inside dog, so he doesn't really feel the need to run free a lot of the time anyway.
