How bout "I Remember When I Was Young" by Matt Taylor?

Well I remember when I was Young the World had just begun and I was Happy
I used to wonder about the Earth and how it moved around the Sun so Snappy
Imagination goin wild makes a very backward child they told me
So back at school Id sit around just waitin for the Sound so I could go Home

Sometimes I think about it It happens every day
I should think of the Present cause the Present Now

Well I remember when I was young how one and Thripence got ya to the Movies
To look Tough we'd Lite a Smoke and very nearly Choke but we had a real good time
Growin older Meant you get to fly a saber Jet and fight a few wars
So id just sit there all day and let my mind decay somethin awful

its about a dying of innocence and growing up and all that fun stuff

I'd like to suggest "What's Goin' On" by Marvin Gaye as a good choice for a Sixties song because the lyrics convey a
lot of stuff that was happening during that time period:
    ________________________
    Mother, Mother, Mother
There's too many of you crying
    Brother, Brother, Brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today ......

    Father, Father, Father
    We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only Love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today

    Picket lines and picket signs
    Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
Oh, what's going on .. (Right on!)

    Father, Father, Father
    Everybody thinks we're wrong
Oh, but who are they to judge us
Simply because our hair is long
Oh, you know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
    Oh, what's goin' on?
    _________________________

The Hippies were really into "making love, not war", and they were very against war and very much into spreading love and peace around. The lines that go: "Picket lines, and picket signs; Don't punish me with brutality.."
This was about how when the Hippies would assemble and hold anti-war demonstrations. They'd carry picket signs with "No War!" messages on them and march in a line in front of whatever building they had chosen for their anti-war demonstration .... they would hold peaceful gatherings, but the local cops would invariably confront the Hippies and tell them to leave; which violated their "free speech" rights; so the Hippies would oppose dis-assembling, and then the cops would use physically-violent force to make the Hippies leave (or they'd arrest them.) It was generally known that cops didn't like Hippies because they were different and they went against the grain - they were non-conformists who simply stood up for what they believed in, and the government didn't dig that at all. Historically, the government wanted the citizens to be fully compliant and not question what they did. (ie: "What's goin' on?")

    Sincere Regards, Michaela

I personally think "for what its worth" by Buffalo Springfield sums up the feeling of the 60's.
