Replacing non HDCP components with HDCP components, replacing cell phones when changing carriers, music players when changing music stores etc. Windows Vista is only a part of the problem. 2) It does not offer a positive alternative, such as installing Ubuntu or another GNU / Linux distro on the older hardware. Bashing Microsoft after they have released Vista is not going to solve this environmental problem.
