Heyy!! You don't have right to be sad! It's no hippies business ;) So open your window and look outside. There must be hippies! They neither wear in hippy style, nor have a long hair anymore. But they are hippies in harts. So try to find them, 'cause hippies are everywhere, in every community.

and you said you still want freedom. So, what makes you unfree? I think today everyone can reach freedom if they want...

I remember the free concerts in Golden Gate Park, Canned Heat Blues Band, Jefferson Airplane, Buddy Miles and the Electric Flag, etc....
Now with my A.A.R.P. card in my wallet and closing in on 60 the idea of sleeping in the park or looking for a "Crash Pad" doesn't sound as good as it did back in the 60's.
Have great memories of Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company, Blind Faith with Eric Clapton, pot was $10. a lid or 3 for $25.. It wasn't great , thats all we
    had............................Dennis........

I've had the same thoughts as you Indiane. That we are reborn hippies. Cuz where do all our feelings, likings and thoughts come from? From nowhere or from past lives and experienses?
I think we carry a little bit of every life with us, that's what makes us who we are. What I like must come from somewhere, how should I otherwise know I like it?

Some day we will be complete, that will be the day (or life) when we have found out who we really are. If we do, then there is no need to live another life just to figure out the same thing again.

You live and you learn. :)

people are just people, it is not about clothes, or how long is your hair, cause it is just a hair and it could be cut of in a minute but the most certain thing you can not loose is your view on life...what counts is what is in your head not on your head.

yes, im convinced that i used to be a hippy who was born again, because i just have all these thoughts that i do not know where they come from. and i had to get them from somewhere. my dad and my mom definitly do not have the same political views or any views as i do, my friends do though, but i think that is partially because i rubbed off on them so much. so yea..

hey....I will gladly trade you your AARP card for the experiences you had....I dream of those experiences!

Of course crashing and hanging isnt going to sound good to you....shit, I think I outgrew that about 5 years ago. But to have been able to do that then...man, what a time.

    I envy that.

hey mates. this is my first visit to this site. i just wanna say shit.. i never thought people like us still exist. i dream of `69 and hippie era. today the world has changed so much for better and worse. I realised that todays system just wants to make you a robot. in other words were in deep shit. i mean, we are always told that we have to prepare for elementary school, from that to secondary scholl, from ther for university, for life, than promotion at work.... WHEN DO WE STOP AND JUST RELAXE. i know that a life is made of challenges and thats cool. but if you dont have time just to sit down and enjoy whatever u whant that just isnt right.
what i mean WE ARE NOT FREE. people like us are labeled as weird or crazy. if i do not dress according to society rules im labeled as not ONE OF THEM. i mean why do we have to dress in particular way (which anyway will be out of fashion in 10 years). its not just bout clothes but everything: music u listen, what art are u into, what u beive in.
what i envy is how people could make music back in 69. today we have to play music mos of people like if u wanna be heard. if u play strange music the only people who would listen to you are those in bars.and thats cool. at least they listen to what you wanna say. but no one else will be able to hear you couse your music is strange. ure never gona have a record deal. FUCK IT. live your life the best way u can and try to change something.

PS. sorry bout my spelling. Lets make a revolution

I'm with Acid. I've grown tired of being an ant, reacting to people in a molded, prefabricated way. I'm tired of following trends, trying to fit in with other people's idea of 'normal.' I realize that we can't have a deep, meaningful conversation with every person we pass, but why can't we spend more time talking, discussing things that MATTER, instead of going on with the day-to-day automation selves?

It seems that individuality is on the downfall. I find it sad that the people who I most respect are often called 'strange,' or 'odd.' That's entirely too negative of a term...
