Are you getting money back or having to pay money on your taxes? Did you get yours done yet? We got ours done today and are getting back about 3 thousand. Which has me thinking of all the different things you can do with tax return money. What are you going to do with yours (if yo'ure getting any back)? What I would LIKE to do is buy a new refrigerator for about a grand (our SUCKS... is so small and shelves are broken and the freezer isn't self defrosting)- save a grand and go on vacation for a grand. You can really do so much with three thousand extra dollars... what we WILL do instead though is save about six hundred, give my husband's mom about $1500 to pay her back for a car loan, buy a new computer chair, get me two new pairs of glasses and see if any is left. Next year though if we don't owe anything (we shouldnt) and dont need anything it will be nice to think of what we can do with it.
We always get that amount because of school, student loans and being married and I think we are on a weird tax bracket... We make enough that a lot!!! gets taken out but we end up paying way too much.... Anyways, I love tax time. It's like getting a big present.
I don't send my taxes til April, because statistically the later you send it, the less likely you are to be audited.
i get a small amount of money every couple of months...but it's hardly anything..i still need to cash my cheque ... i'll prolly spend it on the bar
Taxes? What's that? That's surely one good thing about not being American... But yet again, I would probably get money back. Shiiiite.
I don't have to pay taxes period because im on social security. I basically get money from social security taxes that have been paid in by the good hard working folks, thats how I survive, on social security disabilitie, therefore I get nothing back. My parents don't get didel back either because they no longer have kids at home, or school lones or property that they own that they can count for anything, My father is the only one that works. Under bushes tax plans it is the wealthiest americans that get the biggest percentage of what they pay in back, the ones that need it the least get the most percentage wise. If it were up to me id have it so the poor and middle class get back a larger percentage of what they paid in, and have it so the mega wealthy people who can afford to pay more not get back as much as they are. Thats what I call fair. That would be the way in the world of MagicCarpetRide. But my world is a world all it's own with one person living in it, me. I just come out of it from time to time to communicate with people from different worlds.
Well, not that I don't agree about Bush's tax breaks going more for the wealthy but we always get a lot back and we are working class/lower middle class. *shrugs*
A tad off topic... but... I think tax-breaks that give money to people who are perfectly healthy but unemployed are ridiculous. It's the little Republican in me.
Most likely it's because my husband makes a decent amount for ONE PERSON and files no dependants... yet, I only work a small part of the year and go to college for another part so then when we file jointly as married they see I didnt make much and go to school so he gets a lot back. And Rubin.... I don't think they give tax money BACK to people who don't work and are healthy. What would they be getting money BACK FROM? The taxes I'm talking about are just over payments throughout the year.
Oh okay. Gotcha. I'm not even gonna go into that subject because some people I think do have disabilities and such and need assistance but I have had a recent experience of someone abusing the system and it's kinda fresh annoyance in my mind....
How many people know there is no law that requires a direct, unapportioned federal tax on your labor? Lots of people don't pay the federal income tax because there is no law that says you have to, The federal income tax is completely unconstitutional, yet many people pay it anyway, either because they are uninformed, or they are afraid of what could happen from not paying them (ie: the IRS and their gestapo).
Hmmm... I have heard something about that before. But let me ask you then, how does a person get away with not paying federal taxes and not get in trouble?
