    hey all,

i'll be in boston with a friend tomorrow and i don't know the city at all. we're planning on getting a little drunk and wandering around and talking to people, which always winds up being fun. what good bars are there, or parks to toss a disk around? any recomendations would be cool.

    cheers

to throw a disc around, Boston Common would be an ideal spot...lots of open space. don't know how cold its going to be tomorrow or how much snow there is, but you'll have plenty of space to toss a disc around. or you can go down to Charles River and chill there and toss the disc around. i would stick to Boston Common though, since you'll have more options go places.

theres plenty of bars to choose from depending on where you want to go at night. down near fanueil hall, theres a nice strip of bars next to each other...purple shamrock, union oyster house, and other bars all over the place. those are the 2 places on that street i like.

The Black Rose (on State Street, by the big clock tower) has live music everynight, its a nice Irish Bar. tomorrow night they are having The Celtic Clan, which is great Irish music - seen them play a few times.
http://www.irishconnection.com/index.php?id=41 - they have a list of Irish Bars throughout the city.

if you are in the Copley/Prudential area, they'res plenty of places to check out down in this area.

if you check out Landsdowne street, by Fenway Park, they have some bars down there and Jillians which has a bowling alley, pool hall, and bars. Game On is an alright place, but expensive.

http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/city/3 - some good bars in Allston and Brookline if you want to make your way out there.

if you're just walking around, either the Fanueil Hall and surrounding area is a great place or the Copley/Prudential area - both are great and you can just get around by walking.

http://www.pubclub.com/boston/pubclub.htm = guide to bostons "best bars and taverns" pretty good list :)

hope this helps you, and/or anyone else interested in visiting boston :)
