My boyfriend and I got into a fight last night because he says I set the heat too high. I don't actually keep it set at one thing, in the morning when I get up I put it to like 70-72, and then once it gets up to that temperature I turn it down to like 66, and that way the heat doesn't have to come back on for a while, it just slowly gets cooler in here. When I keep it at 66 all day and don't touch it, it comes on every few minutes to keep it at 66, so when it hits 65, it comes on. My thinking is, the way I do it will use way less oil because it doesn't come on for a while. It definately worked because we haven't gotten oil since like May of last year, and we still have a 1/4 of a tank left. Does this make sense to anyone except me?
Yep. Back when I actually had heating I would set it for 70ish at night, and keep it at 65 during the day, unless it got warm outside...and then I would just turn it off.
I keep mine at 65, it burns about 6 gallons of oil a day. That's what the burner mechanic said when I had to get the burner fixed.( it broke down ) Bustramp
During the late fall/winter, 67 degrees during the day, 63 at night once we're in bed for the evening. During spring/summer, 65 during the day, 60 at night, and if the central air is on, I believe we keep it at 74.
68 usually at all times. Ideally, I would love for it to sit at about 74 degrees all day all the time that only happens in the summer time when it heats itself
I just have a little room heater and I keep it set at 70. We don't have house heating and our house is usually 45-50 degrees inside. It is ridiculous. And everyone gets mad at me for using a heater in my room because of the electricity.
we have a woodstove so.. I'm not quite sure. but before we had it, I think we used to keep the thermstat around 70-72 or so.
60 degrees Fahrenheit 15.5 degrees Celsius I can put on a layer against it being too cold but I cannot sleep when it's too warm.
we keep our at 65, since layers have a way of not staying on the babies. in the morning, for the hour in which we're first waking up and showering, etc, i have it up to 70. seems to improve the overall mood and well-being of everyone in the house. then it's back down to 65. we use natural gas.
I'm the same way. In fact, my husband and I shut the heat vents in our upstairs bedroom at night before we go to sleep, otherwise, it just gets too warm for us in there! In our kids' room it's nice and toasty at night, but with them, they're always kicking off their covers, so it's not so bad for their room to be warm. We keep the vents open in there and it's really cozy.
19 during the day and 16 at night. We have a digital thermostat, so it automatically goes up and down. (that would be 66 and 60 to you Americans )
I set mine at 85 so I can walk around naked. Can't deny your nudist heritage just because it's winter.
Uhh.. we don't have that kinda luxury over here. You turn the heating on... it gets HOT. You turn the heating off and after about five minutes it gets COLD. No nice balance. But hey, that's England for you.
