The cabled hat is the same pattern (Basic Cable from Stitch n Bitch) of the hat I knit for a friend in another thread, I just used different yarn. I like the colours in this one, and am pretty happy on how it turned out. The second hat is one my husband is modelling - it's a hat I have for sale on ebay where I'm going to change the pic to this one, because I think it looks better being worn to display.
ooo, very nice. i've yet to tackle cables, but i hear they're so much fun. i love the fair isle pattern on the second hat. i've got big plans in my head for a black cotton tam with a pink fair isle pattern what's your ebay name?
cerridwen! I just finished my first had from one of your super easy patterns! and it only took a couple of days, including ripping it mostly apart about 4 times. I have one son that wears beanies all the time, and he said "not too shabby Mom" I'm totally excited, but wondering, is there a trick to getting those stitches back on the needle? I kind of need to fix my fix, you know?
rhowyn, congrats it's a bit hard to explain, how to put stitches back on your needle.... try here http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/misc.php <- that link may help, there's video. good luck...
Thanks! I'm pretty proud of how both hats turned out... I also just finished another cabled toque which looks exactly like the green one but instead of green and beige, it's red and black, which looks pretty sweeeet.
