Well, I've read a lot of shit supporting this, and a lot of shit dissmissing this, and I thought I'd ask y'all. Do you think weed interferes with physical/mental developement? If yes, then howso? Also, do you think people should wait until after puberty to smoke? It will be interesting to hear what people say.

yes it does in my oppinion but it doesnt prevent people from developing into fully capable successful human beings, it just interferes with them developing the way their genes necessarily dictate.

but thats only with habitual use, when you start altering the way the brain works for long periods of time during development, how can this not effect teh way the changes dictated by growth will occur?

i think people should wait until after the main surge of puberty. it would be best to wait till in 20s but i dont think thats as crucial in brain development as adolescence.

It can do, yes; the link to psychosis is well documented, and although I am in the fortunate position to be helped, not hindered by cannabis use, I have seen many people go entirely the other way.

Considering the brain doesn't fully develop until the early 20s, I'd say not smoking until one was 18, or even 20, would be a very wise idea.

To my mind, it is those that say they get anxious or paranoid when smoking that are at the greatest risk of triggering something unpleasant. This has never happened to me, thankfully.

Caffiene, cigarettes, and many other chemicals, when taken often enough during development, will leave it's effects on the body. It may not even necessarily be physical. Altering the consciousness of somebody who isn't emotionally secure can have negative effects on the psyche, even if they are only minor. People should have a firm grasp on reality before trying to alter their perceptions of it.

I generally think a 17 year old or an emotionally mature 16 year old should be able to smoke it. I started smoking at 14 but I wish I wouldn't have. Not to say that it messed me up any, but I've seen people who can't handle the experience because they were too young. It seems that the younglings tend to abuse and show dependence more than physically and mentally mature smokers.

That is a great quote; I might have to save this one for posterity...

I think you are spot on, by the way. I also wish I hadn't started so early, and although I don't feel it had any effect on my condition (I can pinpoint fairly accurately what caused that), it'd be very interesting to see what my life might have been like had I waited a few years.

Yea it's like getting a small child drunk, which I've seen before. They have no idea what's really going on because, beyond their own tiny pinch of comprehension of the world, they don't understand inebriation. I'd say smoking can definately affect development mentally, maybe not so much physically unless overused or abused. I can't stress this enough. More often than not, it's the young kids who get confused or have panic attacks or act totally irrational (throwing fits, freaking out, etc.). Of course adults do this too, but I think the kids are more prone to doing it, given their limited understanding.

Zero: If I had waited a few years, my life would definately not be the same. I've had very strange life changing experiences because I was in the right place, right time. Maybe it changed my life around for the better? I can think of an incident in particular... but anyways, not recommended for younglings...lol

oh, because I think I messed myself up. Things don't feel the same, even when I'm sober. Like, lines, and the reality around me tend to blur together, and I don't think that I'm emotionally stable yet. Maybe a break is in order, I've been a habitual user for quite a while, and I'm the youngest person here

also, I read some stuff about how it inhibits your sexual developement, is this true? Cause I read a lot of stuff about how that was a lie made up during reefer madness

I think I kind of got a grasp on reality while I was just starting out smoking, and not smoking habitually yet, so I think I will always be a little different no matter what I do, but now that I really know whats going on around me, I can continue smoking safely I think

I'm 14, I probably dont have as much as a grasp on reality as I think I do, but whatever, I'm totally fine with being a little THC traced for the rest of my life :)

well you seem to have a pretty strong self awareness. I don't know of any correlation with sexual development, though. I think you should take a few weeks on break. The effects of marijana are best enjoyed when coupled with sobriety. See if it makes you think any clearer. How long have you been smoking?

between seven and eight months. Habitually for six or seven months (meaning four or five times a week). I usually spend a couple weeks sober every once in a while, like every few months

Easy to say now, mate..... Personally, knwing what I know now, I'd be concerned about it all catching up with me one day... I'd go easy on it until you're about 18, TBH.

^^^ all the more reason to toke up

it's already caught up with me, I was an emotional wreck a month or two ago. I cried pretty much everyday, I was anxious everywhere I went, and the paranoia I've had since childhood reached new unsettling levels. I had some therapy, and I talked with family members about my anxiety, depression, and my paranoia, and that helped a lot. I've partially overcome it, but I will always be anxious/paranoid.

i think that sort of age should much better be put to use learning new skills like music or sports (depending which way youre inclined). to make use of one's still-strong ability to learn new things rapidly is something that so many kids give up for granted by trying to grow up too soon.

Some of the well-know physical development side effects of marijuana:
-It will make men grow breasts, and woman grow cocks.
-It will cause both your eyes to migrate together and form one big eye in the center of your forehead.
-It will cause hair to grow on your teeth.

ive been smoking for almost 2 years now. for the first year or so i smoked only a couple times a week. then for like 5 months i started smoking at least once a day. after a while of this i noticed it was making me depressed and i just started feeling like shit all the time. i also started feeling like it was harder to interact with people. i decided itd be best for me to stop smoking as much and now i only smoke a few times a week. it is soo much more enjoyable and i dont have anxiety or depression anymore. im much happier now. my emotions seem much more stable.
