I gave my dog greenies dog treat once or twice cuz they cleaned her teeth and she loved it ... One day out of the blue I went to the g-store and went into the pet section to look around and see if I could find somthing nice for my pets ....I looked around and seen the greenies and on the price tag someone wrote ... greenies kills animals .... stop greenies ... So I thought omg I need to look it up so I went on the net and found this

    http://www.grandcentralpaws.com/?p=46

Lawsuites have been filled against the dog "treat" inventor .... even though a few dogs on record has died from these" treats " I wouldnt want to take the chance. I wrote this thread because I dont want peoples animals dieing because some jackass cant make dog treats that are healthy for your pet.

What do you all think about this ? What treats do you feed your dogs that are healthy and benifit him/her?

So if you are using greenies please stop and find something better for your pet :)

My vet said he gave his dog a greenie bone once and he threw it up 3 days later. So obviously they're indigestable. I have heard because they are sharp they could puncture things on the way down.

Yes, I've heard a lot about this... I've never talked to any vets about it, but I've read many stories of poor babies dying, either choking on them, swallowing big chunks and clogging intestines (because they don't really digest), etc. My baby has never had a greenie, and I've warned some of my friends that have dogs, because I know that a lot of vets don't know about it and recommend them as good, healthy treats.
And honestly, why would you want your dog EATING something that looks like plastic/rubber, anyway? Raw or cooked beef bones, cooked pork bones/cartilage, etc. are way better for them, and clean their teeth way better than any of the treats that are supposed to clean teeth and such.
