He is the true action hero. I realised it the moment I saw him turn a hand shake into a full screen testosterone fuelled arm wrestle.

 

Chuck, without a doubt. His role in Sidekicks is cinematic magic. Ok maybe not. But he is still the ultimate badass.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Harrison Ford up until now. He's portrayed to of the most gung-ho characters in cinematic history - Indiana Jones and Hans Solo.

OK so if we're basing this on shitty actiony goodness, my vote will have to go to Dolph Lundgren. If you're unfamiliar, I'd say check out Masters Of The Universe. It is his Magnum Opus. Although others might say that title goes to The Punisher. Either is great.

But if your talking about nasty motherf*ckers I'd look towards the bad guys of the story:

Jack Nicholson in any movie he's made is some bad-ass mean-eyed bastard

Arnie is at the top of the list for me. Always has been and always will be. Can't beat the terminator movies! I have 19 of his on DVD and love sitting down on the odd weekend and re-watching some of them. Long live Arnie...you know he's going to be president don't you.....

yeah we need to restart this poll and include all the other action heroes. whoever said dolf lundgren and mentioned he-man deserves a pat on the back. dolf was also in a lesser known athletic thriller named 'PENTATHELON'. that guy knows how to do 'blonde'.

i suspect that the 'other' option that is well in the lead is mostly due to schwarzenegger. there are so many classic action films he is in: 'commando', 'predator', 'total recal', 'terminator 1 & 2', 'the running man', 'true lies' 'twins', 'kindergarten cop'... the list goes on!

seems tricky since a lot of the higher calibre actors (nickelson, de niro) are famous for a hell of a lot more then just action. we need to stick to the action purists, like norris, who only does excersize infomercials besides action. i mean, you could technically count swayzee for his role in the abysmal 'red dawn'. the genre has had its day i'm afraid. coming soon to a theatre near you: 'die hard 4', 'indianna jones 4', 'rambo 4'... whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy???

 

Danny Dyer too is a good action man of all times..........
