    Hey folks!
i'm at the fire mountain site, trying to order supplies and i'm getting really frustrated!!!

My husband wants to make really good quality necklace blanks for his handblown beads. Basically, just leather cord with Sterling silver endcaps/clasps. So i'm getting the 2mm leather cord...but i'm not sure what to get for the endcaps. We want them to be really easy to put together. One piece, Glue in or crimp. i don't want to mess with jump rings and all that.

i have found what i think i need, but the inner diameters do not come in 2mm. They have 1.9mm or 2.3mm. ??? Should the cap be larger than the cord to glue in...or smaller so it has to be wedged in?? i've never worked with leather cord, so i have no idea what to do. i assumed i could purchase the endcap/clasps in 2mm.

Can someone help me?? What do i need to finish the ends of the leather, what type of glue should i get? What size inner diameter should i be looking for?? Any help appreciated!! i wanted to get these ordered asap, but now i'm at a bit of a road block. Help!!

    Thanks!!

In my experience, the endcaps should be a little larger than the cord otherwise it is really really hard to get the cord into them. The ends of the endcaps (the side furthest away from the clasp) are usually able to be pinched together with plyers, and that holds the leather in place. I only use a dab of glue on the end of the leather right when Im sticking it in the endcap, otherwise it looks messy, and the pinched end of the endcap is there to hold the leather in place anyway...any waterproof glue works...Ive even used modge-podge in a pinch and havent had any problems. I hope this helps! Good luck!
