Hi Im new here, Im just wondering if anyone as heard of 'Power Over Wireless' the transfer of electricity to things such as cell phones without a cable. It works similar to the electric toothbrush!!! Anyone heard of it??
i think at lest some of us have heard of tessla coils. i can't say as i've ever heard of electric toothbrushes using them. but then i've never had an electric toothbrush so i wouldn't really know. inductance is still inductance, not magic. =^^= .../\...
ive that MIT have development a laptop coil that runs completely wirelessly, I think it would have to be commercialised for it to truely work over a distance - no more 4 hour laptop batteries lol
behold the power of static electricity! If you take a TV out to the woods where the power transformers are really large and carry massive charges, you can set the tv on the ground underneath the tower - lay the plug on the ground, and turn on the set! so the whole concept doesnt surprise me
The same way you loose everything else. I honestly have no idea what I did with it though... one day, it just ...disappeared.
MIT had a confrence where they demonstrated how this was possible. Essentially, it uses electromagnetic resonance to recharge the batteries on electric devices. Google electromagnetic resonance and I bet you'll find something usefull.
The laws of physics sort of kill the idea of wireless power. Although the company 'Splashpower' plans on selling lots of wireless chargers...
The toothbrush uses magnetic induction, not radiation. However "wireless Power" has been known for over a hundred years. Einstein's discovery of the photoelectric effect (the only thing he won a nobel prize for) is one example. Solar cells are another. The problem is conversion efficiency. You don't need to be using 100 watts only to transfer 2. Tesla went insane and broke trying to make such an idea practical.
Precisely....unless you have a superconductive free space conduit that has zero resistance and is immune to gravity you've been holding out on.
Im interested to know if Power Over Wireless technology could be used to make renewable energy more efficient, Ive seen this cool floating wind turbine which can used in disaster areas to produce electricity for the victims.
