Blinding LSD

I recently was reading up on LSD when I ran upon a section in a book about the dangers of LSD and it pointed out that there was an event in the 60's where 6 college students from Pensylvania were blinded from impure Acid... What kind of impurity in acid could do this? Like, would it have to be laced? Made wrong? Apparently it's quite rare, but what else could "impure" acid do?

 

it was probably just saying that as propaganda. there is probably more to it then that.

 

There was a report that several college students while tripping stared at the sun for a long time, causing blindness. I think this eventually was chalked up to propaganda as no definitive details were given. Not to mention, if you've ever tripped, you will notice how much more sensitive to light you are when you are tripping. It is near impossible to stare at the sun sober, much less when your pupils are 2.5x their normal size.

I've also heard rumors that dropping liquid LSD into your eyes gives a possibility for blindness (which I might believe).

Lacing acid is nearly impossible, considering that a pile of many poisons (arsenic, cyanide, etc) do not reach their LD 5.0 at the weight of an LSD blotter.

 

The story was that these people blinded themselves by staring at the sun while under the influence of LSD. Of course, this was total fiction promoted by entities trying to use fear as a means to prevent people from using LSD. There are no known reports of any cases of blindness caused by ingestion of LSD, pure or otherwise.

 

I met this guy once and got to talking about acid and he said that he only does it by dropping it in his eyes. It was a long time ago but i think he said it makes it kick in quicker or last longer.

 

Quicker I would not doubt. Hell, I would mainline LSD. Shudder.

 

If you inject it does it make it more intense?

 

I doubt it, but it would probably seem to make it more intense. Essentially because by the time you pulled the needle out you would already be coming up, and by the time you disposed of your aparatus you would be tripping balls. That's why I would do it. It would be 0 to face melting in a minute or so.

 

It would be more intense in that it would hit you a LOT more quickly.

The story about the kids staring at the sun while under the influence of LSD was debunked quite a while ago; first there was never a doctors name mentioned in the article, nor were the names of kids given out or was there ever a record of such an incedent having happened.

It's bullshit, propaganda.

 

Of course you can go blind stairing at the sun on acid. You can go blind stairing at the sun sober. It's just a matter of how long you stair at it. To say, "if you look at the sun on acid." Is a very good for propagation.

And i've heard that banging acid still takes at least 30mins to peak, but that could be bullshit.

 

mainlining acid does not make it hit you immediately, acid doesnt make you trip when it hits your brain, it is a catalyst for a sequence of events in your brain that can take 30mins to an hour to occur

putting it on your eye wont blind you, the lsd would break down itself before it reacts with your eye. your eye is incredibly durable.

 

so is there no benefit at all to mainlining it?

 

i dunno, i guess youd ensure that its all in your blood stream. unfortunately, this in no way ensures that it will all get to your brain, apparently its absorbed into other parts of your body as well
