i like black or white bics. never owned a zippo before, but eh. i can't stand any other lighter but bics they all light like once or twice and just quit working. bics are my faves. i like black bics and white baby bics. baby ones are so cute but i lose them often.
I normally use matches instead because it's easier to light candles with them, and I don't smoke soooo... I have a really cool silvery zippo though, it has a green shamrock on each side. It's a present from a friend and I like it lots because I like shamrocks.
I prefer a green full size bic, with the child proof tab removed and the warning label peeled off. Also the ones where you can adjust the flame with the little sliding tab, those are cool when you remove the metal cover on the end and unscrew the adjuster a full turn or so, then light it and you get a flame 6 inches long
Okay...first, Zippos are not expensive. The basic silver Zippo is fourteen bucks. I bought mine 12 years ago and still use it every day. I'd say that's a pretty good investment. They do have their drawbacks...they suck for smoking bowls unless you enjoy the sensation of your hand on fire. They don't seem to work very well when they get cold. If it's below freezing, they just don't want to light. (my experience anyway) Zippo's would suck in a survival situation. (yeah, I know...when would this even happen) If your Zippo gets wet...saturated...it won't work. You can swim with a Bic in your pocket and still get a light most of the time. I used to have a serious fetish for black Bics. I swear the black ones have a bigger flame! Am I crazy? Most likely. Still, I'm all for Zippo but I'm just way cool like that. *puts on aviators and lights up* clink, zip, clink
when i did smoke...i used a green bic. no others, i always used my green bic to toke up. or if someone has a bic with a cool design on it, like a colorful sun or something like that, then i would use that. at my house, we didn't use white bics. those were bad luck at my house. but yea, i always and still have a green bic
I use my silver zippo for cigs or blunts. For joints and bowls bics are much more practical. Smoking a joint lit with a zippo tastes like shit and as somebody previously said its very difficult, although possible, to smoke a bowl with a zippo. That said I carry my zippo more just cause of the coolness factor of busting it out hearing going *click* and then going *schech* (best I could do to imitate the sound lol) and lighting up.
i have a dark blue bic i took from my dad. he's got about a billion lying around to i just always take his. the only thing i use a zippo for is nothing really, but i like to light it with my pants. ya know you swish it down once to get the cap off, then you bring it back up to light it and then bring it down the other way to close it. cool trick i learned from my friend michael before he moved.
