How do u control what popos up automaticly, when you turn on the computer?!?! its annoying it takes like 10min for my computer to turn on, i just want to stop all the softwares and programs that load up automaticly as soon as i turn on my computer....does anyone kno how i can do that?! thank you!
I assume its windows xp so click the start button click run type msconfig press enter now click the tab called "startup" and clear the tick boxes for startups you dont want then ok it - reboot - and bobs your uncle - if its not xp but windows 2000 then download msconfig.exe from somewhere ps I did it and mildred became my auntie
it certainly sound like you are running a windows machine the msconfig utility offered above is the standard solution however if you find that it is till slow on boot ,its probbaly becuase msconfig only gives you a limited access to what happens during the boot process the people at microsoft figured you have no business tempering with this kind of stuff you can however download a 3rd party utility called startup inspector (download it here) which will give you a wider picture plus explanations about what each process is ,this way you would know whether to disable it or not i used to run windows in the past and found that IM applications like MSN would make the boot process last longer it is also quite possible that you have a virus
actually I got really mad with a computer that kept rebooting and nothing I did would stop that happening and eventually I just ... well kinda snapped and attacked it with the keyboard which lost most of its keys in the assault funny thing is, afterwards I felt a whole lot better and smoked a post-attack cigarette whilst relaxing then I found out that it worked when I replaced the ps2 keyboard I attacked it with for a usb keyboard
